If you could shoot slugs with a full length barrel , you can do so with a shortened barrel
the problem will be accuracy over any distance

alexroska, Shooting tethered to a PC for instant viewing/downloading?  I'll have to try that, it's not the card, probably just a glitch from being tied to the PC - and yes you can reset and start from scratch again from the menu settings.  try that first before the firmware which is a last resort. randy320sgi

SOURCE: Winchester 12 ga defender mod 1300 mfg. date

I think you might have better luck contacting winchester support or one of the bigger gun stores or even an online gun forum as this isn't quite a spotting scope question ;-]

http://www.winchesterguns.com/customerservice/index.asp

They should be able to tell you if the barrel is available and maybe how much or what dealer has one.

The 1300 was made from 1978 to 2006 so that should narrow down the date at least.

I have a Derya 410 singleshot shotgun i dont know if safe to shoot slugs dont know if its ckoed orr not

A cylinder 410 would have a very limited effective range so it would be wise to assume it has some choke on the barrel and this could be verified by carefully measuring the internal barrel dimensions.

Sometimes it is a simple matter for a gunsmith to remove choke from a barrel but I strongly suggest you take advice about firing slugs, which if fired from a cartridge using the fast burning powder of the typical shotgun, the gas pressure could exceed the proof pressure of the barrel resulting in serious personal harm.

Even with a relatively low powered weapon as a 410 it is foolish to speculate or guess - each person has only one face, one pair of hands, one life...

Firearms. What would be the type of firearm you would recommend for a person who is confined to a wheelchair?

A revolver. No slides to deal with to load and it it a no brainier easy way for someone with limited physical ability to use. My 80 year old mother uses a 357 stainless steel model 6 shot revolver. Effectively! Just squeeze the trigger. No safety needed.

Have I possibly damaged my Browning 16 gauge Standard weight shotgun Belgium made.by loading/shooting 2 3/4'' shells

Europe loads 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" shells for 16 gauge shotgun as standard and the US only loads 2 3/4" shells. If your shotgun chambers the 2 3/4" shells it should be OK. You can measure the chamber and see if it measures 2 3/4". You can also check your barrel for and bulges in it by looking down the barrel with a bore light shinning down the other end. A bulge should be able to be seen with the eye. If your gun has any bulge, do not fire it again. You will need a new barrel. But It should be OK and I would not expect their to be any bulges.

I can't get scope to set el9vation

Just a feeling here so don't cuss me (lol)....try turning the adjust knob "the other way". Just take your screwdriver or your quarter or whatever you're using and turn the adjust screw ALL THE WAY THE OTHER WAY and see where it hits. If it's moved, proceed to adjust it. Word of warning, though....a shotgun isn't going to move the crosshairs much at all in its intended range. Shooting it at 30 yards or so, you're going to have a hard time with ANY scope. A slug at 60-100 yards, you would see an adjustment but not shot at close ranges
