My 11 week old kitten refuses to use the litter pan to do number 1 in.she does use it to deficate...ive tried all the different trickswhat can i do

  • Lori Sep 26, 2018

Hi Sami Hodges, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add the following details in the comment box?

You say you have tried all the different tricks...
?I have to ask about these tricks to know if you have been exposed to them as ideas, otherwise, I wouldn't know where to begin helping...
    ?
?- Have you tried different litter?
?- Have you gone with the kitten to the box and gently showed her how to scratch in the litter, sometimes at that age they will play in it, which is totally fine.
?- Have you moved the litter box to where she's urinating?
?- If she's missing the box or going outside of the box, have you gotten a lid for the box?
?- Have you rewarded her for successful box usage?
    ?
?Let's start there, and if you have, I'll have more options to try for you.

Make sure the box is in a low traffic area. Is there #2 in the box when it #1's outside of it. Does kitty get close to the box or just random place ?

SOURCE: Is Silica gel litter safe for kittens?

I would avoid using Silica gel litter in a kittens litter box and wait until they are slightly older. Young kittens are prone to tasting cat litter (simply out of curiosity). Silica crystals can be harmful if ingested and for this reason alone should not be used.

I HAVE 3 MOTHERS AND 11 FERAL KITTENS IN MY HOUSE. THEY ARE SEPARATED NOW BUT THEY WANT TO ROAM. CAN I RELEASE THEM ALL TOGETHER WITH NO FIGHTS FROM THE OLDER CATS. ARE THE KITTENS safe?

Cats will sort themselves out, with mothers and litters. The kittens will all play together. They do play fight as practice for being in the wild. Make sure you get the females spayed. Local organizations will probably help you with the cost.

I fixed spelling and punctuation :>)

How many litters of oil used in howard rotar hoe

That would be 'litres' not 'litters'. Litters refers to baby cats, dogs, etc. When the mother dog has puppies, it is called a Litter of puppies. Cats - same thing. litter of kittens. A 'litre" or Liter is a Basic unit of volume in the metric system.
1 litre = 4.4 cups of water, for example.

I have a 10 week old male kitten. He does use the litterbox but very early in the mornings he likes to do the number one on my bed. What to do???you

at 12 weeks a kitten should leave its mother. it may not seam much but they learn from their mother, if offend you should keep them to one room so they get used to the surroundings. they will want to explore but while you are a sleep keep them in just the one room with food water and a place he will know where to go loo. in day time let him explore with you around home. this is how the mother would do. then take him back to the room with food and loo. dont let the kitten move around the house while you are asleep. this is for the kittens safety, they will eat and bite things they should not. hope this helps.

Causes of littering

Male cat meets female cat and exchanges phone numbers.

If you refer to a group of young cats or kittens, you can use the traditional term "Litter of cats" or a "Clowder of cats".

My cat is 2 years old, she had a litter of 4 kittens they all do have new homes they are 7 weeks old. Sokkies is still very swolen and hard all around her nipples what should i do?

If they swells and becomes red and painful take her to the vet to check for Mastitis which is a bacterial infection in the milk ducts of female cats and can get very sick and die.

Also make sure cats are with mother for 10 weeks to properly learn things.

Also please spay your cat, approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year and millions of cats are euthanized.

What is the best litter box for my kitty?

Little kittens require a litter box with sides low enough for them to get in and out easily. You should visit http://www.shopzilla.com/cat-supplies/litter+boxes/31000200/products and you should find the right litter box for your kitty.

Why is the height of a litter box important?

You want your cat to be able to get in and out of the box with ease, but high enough to keep the litter from going everywhere. The average height for litter boxes is 6 inches; however you will need a lower litter box for seniors and perhaps kittens as well.

How can I avoid and prevent a smelly litter box?

You should get into the habit of scooping the waste at least twice a day. You should completely empty and clean the litter box once a week. Scrub the pan and scoop with detergent and a small amount of bleach to disinfect and then rinse thoroughly.
