Whenever my Dell DJ (15 GB 1st gen, driver 1.1.0.0 from 10/28/2003) mp3 player is plugged in whilst Windows Media Player 11 (for XP) is running, WMP says: "Your device is using an outdated driver that is no longer supported by Windows Media Player. For additional assistance, click Web Help." Web Help says nothing on the issue.
I am happy with my device drivers and I can interface with my DJ via a separate program from WMP. I want WMP to play my music without mucking around with my DJ. The problem is that as long as WMP 11 is running, it drains the DJ's battery by making it "docked". I would like to charge the battery while WMP is running. How do I turn off the sync features of WMP 11? Do I have to roll back to WMP 10? Is there a new, supported, driver for my DJ?
Hi, please get the driver here :

I have tried the solution here: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows...
This fails because WMP 11 does not see the device, so I can't tell it to stop syncing. This appears to be a flaw in WMP 11... I hope this gets fixed in an update.
