The backlight seems to work because when I turn it on the screen lights up. All the flashlight test reveals is dust on the screen. I haven't checked the LED strips yet because I have backlight. Should that be my next step?
The display panel should be suspected. The picture you attached here looks so. Contact the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

If you see a picture with the flashlight you can rule out the T-Con board. It's working. So the led driver board is the problem. TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy Go here for replacement parts.
The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

If you have backlights its not going to be the tcon for future reference. you have some shorted or open LEDs in the panel. Check the voltage going to the LED sets, should be 100 plus volts
if you have no backlight or audio and there is an image then it would be the processor on the main av board, this can go due to 2 things, feed back from the led driver board or the smd capacitors are gone around the processor they usually 16 volts and something like 1000uf and there is 2 to 4 of them the same value. it really depends on the board numbers, also if replacing the board you need to use the board number and the sticker number the last 4 digits are the compatibility these 4 number are important to match parts.

I got the T Con and Main Boards from ShopJimmy, so it's hard to imagine that they're bad, but it is possible. You think I should contact them for an RMA?
Anything is possible however SJ is a very reputable place but something could happen in shipping or when the board was removed, Ive ordered a couple hundred boards and parts from them and have had under 2% that have been bad.. sad part is they won't refund shipping and you have to foot the bill to ship it back...Do this and see if you can get a half picture...remove the left flat cable going from the tcon board to the panel board and see if you get the other half of the picture to work, if nothing put that ribbon cable back on and remove the other one and see if the other half the screen works, Ive had several bad screens on the TV your talking about and if none of the boards helped your basically down to a bad replacement board or the panel. If its the panel the set is trash but at least this way you will know whats going on with the set
I did this and neither helped. I will reach out to SJ and see what they can do.
Just curious - what could have broken the panel? Do they just sometimes break?
There are components on the boards that go to the panel itself that go bad, one thing you can test if you want to is the SMD capacitors on both boards and see if you find a shorted one, generally thats what goes bad
Turns out that I ordered the wrong TCon board. I got the right one and things were working until I mounted the TV on the wall. Now I get the same symptoms as before. I tried your disconnect half test and it will work on one half, but not the other (I swapped ribbon cables to be sure).
I did notice that on the bad side that the board that the TCon connects is somewhat loose. Is this something that I should replace? Or could this just be a loose connection from all the times that I've had to lift the TV? Or have I messed up the panel from all the times I lifted up one side of the TV to see if I had fixed it?
I really appreciate all your help with this.
