SOURCE: parking brake pedal goes to floor

Hello;
The parking brake cables may be stretched and in need of adjustment. Follow the cables along to a nut. Then you can tighten the adjusters up on both sides until you have the proper tension. Also make certain none of the brackets are bent or broken that the cables ride through.
Thanks;

SOURCE: parking light brake light will not go off after power is engaged

no the P light ans system will always be on unless you command a drive or N funtion since there is no 'park' in the drive train only a mechanical brake. when running/on, when you put in drive it should acknoledge drive and P should unlock. if not you have trouble and need the dealer

Testimonial: "this was very helpful. Thanks. It finally went into drive after repeated tries. Good to know there is no actual nonmechanical parking brak"

SOURCE: parking brake on my 01 kia rio(standard) no longer holds

You may want to revisit those rear brakes to make sure the parking brake linkage is hooked up properly. There is usually a spring that needs to go over the parking brake linkage and make sure the cross bar is facing the right direction and holds both the shoes and the parking brake linkage.

SOURCE: replaced rear brakes, and the new rear brake drum

No, just back off the adjusters completely before putting on the drums.

I need to know how to properly install a new park brake cable on a 1995 f150 st.six 4.9efi. I got the new cables and installed them but the new front and intermediate cables won't reach the bracket holding...

The adjustment would be on the cable themselves. They should be full extended before inserting them. For a free full online repair manual for your truck, go to autozone.com, register for free and view your repair manual

2004 Mercury Mountaineer Emergency Brake Adjustment

Greetings larslabs,
My name is Dennis and I can assist you to finding your parking brake adjustment location.
1) the adjustment is located so that you have to remove your center console floor finish panel (this is the drink holder).
2) raise your parking brake lever and gently pry the plastic tabs from the center console.
3) Once you can see the park brake lever you will see a nut that is turned to adjust the lever so that it has 5 clicks when it is applied.
Glad to be of assistance and thank you for using FixYa. Please rate the solution because I can learn from your rating (and it keeps my rating up to date). Thank you, Dennis
