I have a 1981 Yamaha g1 that clicks but won't turn the engine over in forward but does fine in reverse.ive switched relays so Im pretty sure they are good.what to look for next please?

Possible ???? Oh and battery is charged and good.its a gas golf cart.sorry I didn't mention that above.

I have a 93 dodge dakota pick up. When I turn the key I get nothing, The radio and the lights work fine. I had starter checked and the battery changed, It will run if you push it to start but not with the key.

The first thing you need to do is stop wasting your money by replacing parts. Then get a volt-ohm meter and a test light to test the circuits between the battery, the alternator, the ignition switch, the starter relay and the voltage regulator. (a.k.a. Charging System Circuits)

To start, the "B+" or "BATT" terminal on the alternator (large black wire) MUST have a solid, direct connection to the battery. Check for the proper voltage here. Then, the red wire on the alternator at the "F2" terminal should be HOT at all times. If not, you probably still have a bad fuse link that you missed. The "F1" terminal on the alternator (Light Green wire) is known as your "FIELD" wire. It comes from the "IG" terminal at the voltage regulator. It should be hot any time the key is in the ON position. If not, your voltage regulator is not working or your ignition switch is not providing power to the regulator. Finally, The "F" terminal (Red wire) at the regulator should be hot any time the ignition switch is in the ON position. This actually gets it's power from the starter relay, which gets its power from the ignition switch.

No You Should be able to remove the one way starter clutch by removing the right-hand side cover and also removing the starter you can Utube the procedure im pretty sure but its pretty basic to do once your inside the cover and also you may wanna drain the oil previously to removing the side cover so it doesn't drain out on the floor while your trying to get cover off also be careful because there are dowels that align the case to the engine and sumtimes they rust together :)

My g1 serial no. j31-149828 runs fine in reverse but has weak spark in forward & does not crank, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Larry,
There should be a micro switch for forward and reverse. Look underneath seat directly where gear selector goes through body. You should see a switch to activate forward and a switch to activate reverse. If unit cranks and drives well in reverse but not forward, I would start here. The G-1's I have fixed have this set up. Yours may be slightly different depending on the year. But I would find the micro switch that clicks when you put it in forward and replace it. They are fairly cheap and easy to switch out. Neuteral light won"t turn off oo my 1981 750 virago

Light blue wire going into side of engine is grounded or neutral switch is bad. If you disconnect the wire from the switch and the light stays off, the switch is bad. If it stays on, the wire is pinched somewhere.

My 1981 yamaha 185 exciter was running fine but now won't start and has a strong gas smell. It starts to turn over and sputters and then dies.

Im having problems with mine too. It wants to turn over but never completely turns, is there a trick to getting it to turn over. It has compression, timing, the carbs clean and getting gas. I don't know what to do and losing the battle.

How can i sync my htc g1 with my macbook

Same way you would for Windows/Linux

Plug in your G1 using your USB cable.
From your G1 use the Drag Down menu from the top of your screen
Click USB Connected followed by clicking Mount

With Mac im pretty sure a Flash Drive will pop-up onto your desktop were you may then access your G1's SD Card.

One of my computers USB ports wouldn't read it. So if one of your drives won't read it try another one.

Clicking sound when i attempt to use directional signals on 1981

this sounds like the flasher relay has gone.turn the flashers on while holding the relay if it just clicks you will feel it then you will have to replace it
