Good ! that u have mentioned the name of ur printer
paper jam error message appers whenever the pick rollers that helps in pulling the papers are dirty but you will not be able to clean those rollers as you may tru to do a power drain :
1:disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer
2:hit the power button for 10 times when the power cable is disconnected
3:reconnect the power cable and try to see the error again
4: try to clean the rollers on the printer that is there at the back of the printer and front of the printer with a cotton cloth or a lint free cloth with some water

this is for paper jam

carriage jam:
1: try to move the carriage manually for 10 to 15 times and if that is moving then its ok otherwise your printer funtionality has gone bad as because if the carriage will not move then you will not able to print
so service your product

Started with paper jam and then after that. Error message. Carriage Jam, print carriage access door. Clear and press ok. can't figure out what this means

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

The paper won't advance enough to print in our HP officejet 7580

Look for little pieces of paper that get stuck in the rollers, also verify that the gears and roller didn't get misaligned when you cleared the jam.
Good Luck,

Paper jam

Remove back part of the printer. View the printer roller usually in the heater area, if there is still small particles or paper left.

Carriage Jam -- Paper Jam

I have serviced an officejet pro L7580 which was showing a paper jam error when powered on. our customer had had a paper jam and removed the paper . I found small peices of paper in the pick up assy gears. If you remove the rear door, you need to check the 2 small white gears on the left. turn the roller slowly by hand and clear any paper stuck between the teeth. (they may be very small).

after doing this....no more paper jam errors for me!
