SOURCE: error 5 error LU1812 live update error

Download and run the LiveUpdate fix tool from Symantec HERE

After you run the fix tool, open Norton 360, click on the "Scans" link at the top of the window, choose "Comprehensive Scan" and then click the "Go" button This will take some time, but will thoroughly inspect your computer for infections

To address your other question regarding the LiveUpdate settings, you can change the configuration to use an HTTP proxy. To do so, please follow these steps.

1. Open the "Symantec LiveUpdate" Control Panel.

2. In the LiveUpdate Configuration window, click on the "HTTP" tab.

3. Click on the radio button that says "I want to customize my HTTP settings for LiveUpdate." Enter the information for your HTTP Proxy server, click the "Apply" button, and then click the "OK" button.

Please let me know if this process resolves the issue you are having with LiveUpdate. Also, if the scan finds any infections, please let me know what is found.

SOURCE: i keep getting error code 0x80080005 when trying

Hi,

Broadly speaking, you can try one or all of these :

Run CCleaner to clear up PC Junk. Reboot. If you are using windowsupdate try using microsoftupdates and vice versa.

If you still cannot Update Windows Vista (orWinXP/SP2) using windowsupdate, try this :

Open Internet Explorer > Tools >Internet Options > Security > Click 'trusted
sites' icon >Click Sites > uncheck 'require server verification'
Then add following sites :
http://*.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://*.windowsupdate.com.
Click Close > Apply > OK. This is known to help the GenuineValidated Windows, in some cases, but not always.

Else, lastly, note your error code and visit this excellent Microsoft Resource : http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/ph/6527/
Search for the solution against your error Code.

Magic jack script keeps trying to download slowing my browser down

from my point of perspective, the best thing the do in your case is installing the magic jack script all over again. or what is it called ? I have no idea how far you know about pc software. how ever if this is the only problem you are going to be all right. I just installed windows 7 all over again not just because Skype was bugged at some point but also several other for example I explorer errors and bugs. how ever I would advice you to bring in a professional about this issue before you do anything radical unless you know what you are doing. in any case don't forget that when you install windows 7 home premium all over again that, the first thing to do is get your internet back online as soon as possible and get your motherboard drivers installed as soon as possible. after that let windows 7 do its updates in 1 step at the time. you will only need the important updates. at least that's my opinion. good luck and have a nice day.

Code Oxcooooo22

Even when I am using the administrator account I can not download updates
from the windows update site the yellow icon used to appear but no updates,
now no icon appears, these messages come up whenever I've tried to download
updates manually from the windows update site [Error number: 0x8DDD0002] or
something that goes like this OxOOOA46 and there is a link to where one gets
instructions on fixing it. I have done what was suggested which was to go to
tools internet explorer security and make sure user persistence user data was
enabled I've done all this to no avail. I've been told that I need to be an
administrator to download updates but anytime I've tried to download updates
I've been using an account with administrator privileges.

I've had problems accessing the internet for ages but it is only lately that
I can't download updates from the windows update site.

I keep getting these error messages when I switch on my computer using the
limited account. ccApap.exe - Application Error.
The application failed to initialise properly (OxcOOOOO22) click on ok to
terminate the application.

I click on ok and then another message comes up osCheck.exe - Application
Error
The application failed to initialise properly (OxcOOOOO22)click on ok to
terminate the program

Again I click on ok and another message comes up PIFSvc.exe - Application
Error
The application failed to initialise properly(OxcOOOOO22) Click on OK to
terminate the application.

I click on ok and windows loads as normal. I can access programs such as
works and windows media player but my anti virus (Norton Internet Security
2007) has disappeared but when I use the Administrator Account Norton seems
to be there and seems to work ok.

My computer is a year old and I have had to get it repaired a couple of
times but I don't want to spend any more on it as they can't seem to fix the
problem. I can do what I want so long as it is offline anything that
involves the internet I have problems with. The computer Operating System is
Windows xp Home Edition with service pack 2. I use Internet Explorer version
7.

Any ideas on why I have problems with the internet and what I can do to
solve them would be much appreciated.

None of those failing modules that you mention are from Microsoft.
I suspect that they may be from your security package(s).
Try enabling the Windows firewall only. Uninstall your other security packages
and then retry getting the updates.

BTW if you are only concerned with getting the updates but don't care how
you could also try using the Windows Update Catalog, download and install
manually from there.

HP calls my HP Pavilion dv9417cl Notebook PC a "Vista PC" and will not support it after I upgraded the OS to Windows 7. Nvidia doesn't appear to be of any help either. windows auto update keeps...

You should of used the Windows 7 Advisor before upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista. The advisor will indicate the hardware and software updates and changes you'll need before performing the upgrade. If you've already installed Windows 7, you can go to the Microsoft Update page and see what kind of updates you need for Windows 7 to work in you laptop. Also, go to the HP website and check the drivers download page for your computer with Window 7 installed, download the drivers, and then install them one at a time for each device. You won't need to talk to a human to do this.
