Sounds like normal behavior as they do like to hide. Unless he or she does not come out to eat or drink then I would consult a vet. Is there any possibility that you may have a pregnant female? Has there been any change in conditions in your habitat or home? Lizards do not adapt well to changes at times and will hide.

Substrates for reptile pets should not be collected in thewild. You should know that soil, leaves and sand may contain organisms that areharmful to your reptile. Particulate substrates can be harmful for yourlizards. Some small elements may get into the eyes of lizards that have nomoveable eyelids, causing irritation, injury, serious infection, or evenblinding them.
