Either track down the original remote for the model, or get a universal one, try and get the type that searches for the code automaticly otherwise you will be hunting around for the remote code that is correct for it.

SOURCE: Black Bars on all blu ray movies

Hi icmjrtdr,

Having black bars displayed when watching a Blu-Ray disc is a common occurrence, even with a widescreen television.

You may have heard or seen aspect ratios of 4:3 or 16:9. 4:3 is the ratio of a traditional television that is nearly square. 16:9 is the ratio of most widescreen televisions currently marketed. The reason that even with a 16:9 television Blu-Ray discs are displaying black bars is that many of these discs contain footage that has not been reformatted for television. The screen in a movie theater is even wider than 16:9, and rather than trim the ends, most Blu-Ray discs maintain the entire picture.

Depending on the options available in your particular television, you may be able to find a zoom setting that trims the ends and removes the black bars. It is up to you if you would rather see black bars with the entire picture or lose a small amount of the picture on each side for a full-screen experience.

Hope this helps,
Jason,

SOURCE: Is a blu-ray player compatible with a rear projection tv phillip?

You need to use an HDMI connection from blu-ray player to the television. If your tv does not have an HDMI input the tv is probably to old and will not accept 1080P. If it does have an HDMI connection it should display a minimum of 1080i.

SOURCE: No picture from samsung blu-ray to samsung TV

I have a Samsung Blu Ray HT BD 1252 home cinema. This is a replacement for an identical which just stopped working after four weeks. This one is now two weeks old and will occasionally be reluctant to load a disc, recently seven attempts and and forty minutes of loading / unloading etc. It now pixelates or partial picture freeze for a second or two on every BD that we have or rent, yet plays DVDs perfectly. I have tried brand new, sealed BD discs with no luck. Any ideas before I return it to the supplier for a refund?

How can stop Samsung HT-EM53C Blu-ray system from opening the CD tray?

It sounds like you have an issue with the Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) function. When the home theater system is connected to a compatible TV by an HDMI cable, you can sync the operations when this is enabled on both the TV and the home theater system.

You need to be turn the feature off on one or both devices. If you have another HDMI port on the TV, you could move the HDMI cable to that port. (Most TVs only have one HDMI-CEC enabled port.) Note: this turns off the audio return channel option. If you only have the HDMI cable connected between the TV and the HT-EM53C, you will need to connect another cable. Depending on the TV, this could be an optical audio cable, analog RCA audio cable or headphone (3.5mm) to RCA audio cable.

The manual for the Samsung HT-EM53C is available at ManualsLib here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html .

A summary of the Anynet+ feature is here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html?page=29#manual . Accessing and navigating the Settings menu is discussed here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/355628/Samsung-Ht-Em53c.html?page=25#manual . Press the Home button on the remote and go to the icon with the gear.

I hope this helps.

How do I connect to internet?

This system will require a wired (Cat-5) network connection to your router. Once connected, use the Settings -> Network menu to set up the connection. If your router is not set for DHCP, you'll need to find out the IP address for the port you're connecting to the HT system. There are fields for the address, subnet mask, DNS, and default gateway in the Settings-Network menu. These settings will all depend on how your router is setup. Once you have the settings entered you can test the connection.

User manual

You get surround sound only if you hook up your Optical out from your TV to the Optical IN on the HT-H4500 using an optical audio cable. You may have to buy such a cable if one was not included with the TV or the home theater.

Follow the link below and click on the Manual tab.

How can i hook up my tv to the ht-h4500 blu-ray

Check the outputs on the back of the blu-ray player and the inputs on the back of the tv. If the tv is fairly old, it may not have the correct type, though most around these days would.
You may have three round ports - yellow with two of white/black/red, or an s-video round cable with something like one whole in the middle and five(?) around the outside, or a flat hdmi port?
