If the blower is made of plastic it does not have a set screw. You most likely need a new squirrel cage. They are formed to the shaft and have a compression ring that holds them in place.

SOURCE: Air conditioner/furnace squirrel cage fan remains running when th

probably the fan switch stuck on the fan combination control or improperly adjusted. Turn power off, remove red wire on the relay from the fan motor. Isolate so no short will happen and turn power on.The motor should not run. The fan relay could stick also. You will have to use a volt meter and see if there is voltage on the coil terminals on the fan relay. Put 1 lead to ground and touch only the terminal for the coil on the relay with the other meter lead.It should not have 120volts. If it does it is not the fan relay but possibly a limit sending power to the relay. Try that first thank you J

Replaced bulb, now tv comes on for 1-2 minutes, goes funky and turns to a red light on power.

Possibly replacement lamp is wrong power, size, type, etc., or may be defective. Try another lamp. Also, clean and vacuum cooling fans and filters. One fan is squirrel cage type, the other is a pancake type. Lubricate each fan with a tiny drop of Z-Max or other light oil on each motor bearing. Regards.

Amana heat pump emergency heat comes on but blower will not start. The call for heat comes in and the heating element(s) glow red for a few seconds and then there is a "click" and the heating...

Check the blower motor capicator. It should be mounted close to the motor with 2 wires to it (brown,brown/white).
Turn the blower on the thermostat and spin the squirrel cage by hand and see if it runs after by itself. If it does then definitely the capicator is bad .If it still doesn't run then check to see if there is voltage going to motor.
If thermostat is calling for fan and there is voltage present at the motor terminal then the motor is bad

Ac squirrel cage fan motor noise

Could be bearings going out, or a squirrel cage rubbing the blower housing, a squirrel cage blade that came loose, or a capacitor.

Squirrel cage fan won't start and after a bit hot air comes out the front (not blown out just eakes out)

Hello, yes there is a capacitor located in the control panel that should be replaced if the fan does not start on it's own. Usually most motors are permantly lubricated if they are newer so they do not need lubrication.

When I turn on the A/C or the heater in my my 1995 Regal a sound is made like the fan blades are brushing against something. I believe something fell against the fan. Any idea how to access the fan?

The fan cage(blades) are bad,you will have to replace the squirrel cage, and you may have to buy it as a whole unit to get the squirrel cage.If this was at all helpful, please rate thank you.

Running not blowing air

sounds as if fan isnt attached to motor shaft. There is a set screw on the fan cage that if it loosens the shaft will turn inside of the fan not turning the fan( also known as a squirrel cage) You need to get access to the fan motor and see first if its shaft is rotating, if it is see if the squirrel cage is turning if not the set screw located on the inner collar of the squirrel cage needs to be tightened. Thie set screw is more than likly an allen set screw.
