SOURCE: looking for a replacement speaker for my Technics

OK. I suggest typing the model in on EBay and getting the cheapest one there is.

SOURCE: is the tweeter a stand alone 8 ohm speaker?

yes, but it is attached to circuitry that allows only the high frequecies into it. You can replace the speaker with any 8 ohm tweeter without any difficulty, but if there is a capacitor across or in series with the speaker, make sure you put it on you new speaker the same way.

SOURCE: Morning I have a set of KEF Q 5 floor standing

I'd suspect a shorting voice coil in the woofer or a loose connection inside that vibrates and presents a wildly varying load.

Disconnect the bi-wiring jumpers and try driving each 'half' separately as a test for tripping the amp.

SOURCE: my jamo d115 speaker tweeter distorts or rattels when any serious bass kicks in, how do you stop this?w

Hi,
Try a 2.2 MF 50V cap should do the trick.

Otherwise I have seen this problem before. You just need to replace the tweeters.
The originals are no longer available but you can get some generic cone tweeter that will fit.
To be honest there is nothing special about the original tweeters so any 4-6 ohm tweeter of the same size and shape will do

SOURCE: I bought a used like

Hi Sir,
I am Ashish from India. Sir do you still have Jamo Center 200 Speaker? Actually I also have same speaker but it is used/second hand and have had some repairing work done on it. It's crossover also had some manipulating. Now this speaker doesn't perform very well so I need complete details of parts for Crossover/Network circuit of this awesome speaker. So can you send me image/photos of your Center 200 Crossover/Network circuit so I can identify the values of Capacitors, Registers and other parts. And also send me image of Woofers & Tweeters back panel.

Thanks
Ashish

Possible this is a distortion from the Amplifier if the speakers are not damaged. however it is important to switch the speakers to confirm if the fault is relative to the particular channel in which case the amplifier is faulty. If not the speaker can be the culprit. All what is needed is to reduce the BASS level a bit lower when the volume is increased so as to allow the cross over to work. Also if teh cross- over network is faulty within the speaker the bass can vibrate on the tweeter.

My S606 developed a problem whilst playing. Sound especially from front towers has turned flat. Speakers are under warranty. Could this be a tweeter issue

Try doing an auto-calibration through your amp to check that all the speakers are correctly connected, if they are then try play around with the EQ. otherwise, chances are it's a manufacturing fault
