The gas valve is not sensing flame, and the unit shuts down on safety.

Chances are the flame sensor is bad, its a common problem.

If its a thermocouple you can buy one for 10 bucks, If its a newer style they can usually be had for less than 30.

They are easy to replace ad they are usually installed with two screws and one to two wires.

They sit directly in the flame pattern in front of the burners.

A service call should only cost you 250 or less for the repair, but you can do it yourself for less than 50 (including gas to drive to the HVAC supply house that sells your brand unit.)

You will need the model and serial #s when locating the parts.

SOURCE: Heater

The heater in your car depends upon a flow of hot coolant going through the heater core in order to get hot air into the car. If the heater core is partially plugged, it will restrict the flow. If you have a head gasket that is putting exhaust into the cooling system, it will eventually get into the heater core. When this happens there is no coolant in the heater core to make the air warm. If the water pump vanes have corroded away the result will be very poor coolant circulation causing the heater to not blow hot air. If your car is equipped with a heater control valve that is not functioning properly, the coolant flow will be restricted. One or a combination of these factors is likely the culprit in your case.

To attempt to clean the core, you must flush the system multiple times. If this does not work, the core cannot be cleaned and must be replaced.

How do I change heat to cool?

Hi Annette, it's Jack at Dyson.

When you lower your AM05's target temperature (shown on the LED display on the front of the machine) down to 0°, the red light around the on/off switch will turn blue. This shows your machine is now running in fan-only mode, without the heating elements - suitable for use in hot weather. You can then adjust the airflow power and oscillation to suit your needs.

Why does it work OK all evening then a quiet motor sound but no blow. Cause=?

Hi there Philip, it's Jack at Dyson.

When your Dyson Hot + Cool heater has heated the room to the target temperature you've chosen (shown on the LED display on the front of the machine), it will revert to monitoring mode. In monitoring mode, the motor will continue to run at a low speed, drawing a small volume of ambient air past the intelligent thermostat. When the thermostat detects that the ambient air temperature is falling below the selected target, the heater will activate again to maintain the temperature.

From your description it sounds as if your machine is working correctly - it would display an 'E' or an 'F' error code on the LED display if there was an actual fault. However if you're still concerned I would encourage you to contact the Dyson Customer Helpline directly for further advice. You can reach our experts by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

    Dyson hot and cold

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

It sounds like your heater is shutting off because the ambient temperature is higher than or equal to the target temperature you've chosen (shown on the LED display on the front of the machine):
The heater's intelligent thermostat is engineered to turn the machine on only when needed when the ambient room temperature drops below the target temperature. However, we're happy to help you make sure your heater is working as intended. Please give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My dyson hot fan will not give out air under 24 degrees?

Hi Charlie, it's Jack at Dyson.

When you adjust the target temperature of your Dyson Hot fan heater (shown on the LED display on the base), you're setting the target temperature you would like the room heated to. The actual temperature of airflow produced by the fan heater will not vary.

If the heater won't run below 24 degrees, this is likely to be because the temperature of the room you're in is equal to or warmer than 24 degrees. The heater will only turn itself on if the temperature drops below 24 degrees, and once the room temperature reaches this target once again, the fan will turn itself back to monitoring mode.

I've attached our Getting started video below which shows how to adjust the temperature, using the remote or the controls on the base.

I hope this makes sense. It sounds as if your machine is working correctly, but if you'd like any further advice from our experts you can reach us at 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Dyson hot and cold fan only works in hot mode

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If the heater won't run below 25 degrees, this is likely to be because the temperature of the room you're in is equal to or warmer than 25 degrees. The heater will only turn itself on if the temperature drops below 25 degrees, and once the room temperature reaches this target once again, the fan will turn itself back to monitoring mode.
