First I'm not a louisiana Grill representative.
* Check your warranty. call for support.

*** Following is for information only.***
* Any item that can burn will burn if it has; Fuel, Air, Space to burn.
* Pellets catching flame means all three items are available.
* Check your "Flame chamber" Is it open for full burn or searing position? (full open where you can see the pellets and lots of air can get to it? This air will allow the pellets to burn quickly.); https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1R_eloeM0Fw
* Check if your cover to grill is fairly air tight as when it was new. Though the burn chamber is what keeps most of the air out. The lid also helps keep drafts from causing flare ups. Smoking requires "smothering" the fire. Keeping the air out.
* Check if your electrical power (extension cord) is okay.
* Check if your meat probe is still working and calibrated. If this probe (wires) are broken then the feed will think the meat is cold (or hot) and over feed (under feed) the burn kiln.
* Check with your vendor for advice.

SOURCE: traeger junior 2 weeks old dosen't seem to make

Take and unplug your electrical cord and then take the bottom grate that covers your motors and components off. The are 4 small screws and then it should drop down. Look to see that there are not any wires hitting your fan motors. You can just reach up there and move them around if they are. Some Treagers seem to have some noise until you use them a little. They have a 3 year warrenty, so if the wires are not hitting the fan blades, I would use it and see what happens.

SOURCE: when I turn grill on it throws the breaker

Try a different outlet, maybe the breaker is bad with the one you are using. The hot rod could be bad as this seems to be a problem with Treager grills. They should be under warrenty so call and have one sent to you. To check the hot rod, unplug your grill and the reach up from the bottom and unplug the purple wire. Plug the grill back in and see if it will start. If it does, it is the hot rod.

SOURCE: Quadra-Fire Pellet stove-Pellet pot fills.

Sounds lie an Ignition Box problem. Quadra Fire recently redesigned their Ignition Boxes, so your may wan to replace yours. In addition, contact Quadra Fire Technical Service and speak to Steve Tate. He's a real guru when it comes to this problem. Don't settle for anyone else.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Testimonial: "Thank you...don't know who Steve Tate is but will definitely look into Ignition Box replacement."

I keep getting an error msg. When it finally starts, it shuts off with the Err

Hi Terry,

This may help... ...from Treager's site FAQ

"My Unit Goes Out On Smoke
  1. Open the cooking chamber lid and remove cooking grill, angled drip pan and U-shaped firepot cover. Look and see if there is a large accumulation of pellet ash in and around the firepot. If there is, it will need to be cleaned out. Do this ONLY WHEN THE GRILL IS TOTALLY COLD! Replace U-shaped firepot cover, angled drip pan and cooking grills and resume cooking/smoking process.
  2. If this does not remedy the problem, please contact the Traeger Service Department."
From my personal experience, cleaning out the pellet ash is needed when the smoker will not hold a high temperature regardless of the thermostat setting.

In your case, the fire pot may be packed with pellet ash and pellets from the auger jamming.

Good luck.

My trager grill is smoking a lot in the pellet hopper

That could mean that pellets in the augur have caught fire and it can work its way back to the hopper. Then you really have a problem. Are you sure the fan is running?

You should be able to hear it. The fan helps keep the heat from working its way into the augur. If it's not running, you should also be having trouble controlling the temperature.

Traeger has specific instructions on its website for testing various components including the fan and customer support can assist you with this problem.

Here's a link to the Traeger website: http://www.traegergrills.com/. I'd suggest you get in touch with them ASAP because you definitely don't want to deal with burning pellets in the hopper.

MY Traeger is less than a year old. I started smoking some salmon alot of smoke was bellowing out the stack. It was so much smoke I could not see the grill with the salmon when the lid was open. I close...

Sounds like you've got grease in the bottom that's catching on fire. Take the grill apart and clean out the bottom of the barrel. You'll probably need a shop vac to clean out the ash, too.

Our pellet fire seems to take a long time to ignite and start flaming we are using a sack of pellets from last year can you helpp it is taking aboout 20 minutes to produce a small flame

I suspect that the sack of pellets left over from last year, have absorbed a lot of moisture during that time. Therefore, they are hard to light and slow to get up to a roaring flame. Really, there's not much you can do to correct this. Other than stop using that sack of pellets to get the fire started. Use a new fresh bag to start the fire and add the others to the hopper, after the fire gets really hot.

Hope this helps you.
