Hello, Gwen -

If you are asking about a cordless land line phone. . .

"Out of Range" means the handset has lost its connection with the base station. Cordless phones are actually forms of radios. They need to be in radio wave connection with the phone base.

"No Power at Base" means that the electric power cord for the phone base is not plugged in or loose in the electrical outlet or that the batteries in the cordless handset need replacing.

Check base power on 1715 base

Check the base power source and at the unit. You are seeing 'out of range' displayed because the base is not getting power.

Handset says "Out of Range". What does that mean; how do I fix it.

out of range means it can't receive a signal from the base station. The most likely problem lies with the base station. Special when 2 or even more handsets are giving this message.
Try to reset (unplug the power cord and reinsert it) the base station. When it does not come back after half a minute, the station must have a major problem.

Why does my vetch phone say out of range or no powerat base?

Usually that works for a lot of devices, taking the battery out and waiting about 15-20 seconds. Out of range could mean one of two things, It might be telling you that the battery in the handset is low and not able to receive the signal or you have reached the limit for distance, or have crossed into a metal barrier. No power at the base could mean a lose connection at the main unit or wall plug in. It may be a good thing to relocate your base unit, if you can.

I have binatone luna 1220 phone but on the screen it says 'OUT OF RANGE' WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

If the display says out of range, it means it can't connect to the base station. Could be because it is to far away, or it is switched of, disconnected from the mains or just defect.

Handset says searching

Searching means its searching for a signal. If the phone cant contact the base it will say searching. Make sure the handset is in range of the base and the base is connected to the power.

Range out

You don't give much information to go on here; it would have been a great help if you'd added details of the make and model and whether the problem occurs some or all of the time.

Assuming it's a cordless home telephone then your phone is telling you that it cannot communicate with the base station. Typically this will be when you're too far away (out of range, hence "range out"). Too far away simply means that either the phone or base station antennas are not fully extended (not all models have external antennas though), or it can mean that there's too many solid walls/obstructions between the phone and the base station; these kinds of phones can also have problems with certain types of building construction. It can also be if there's interference on the carrier waveband, so try switching the base station and all phones to an alternative band if available. Other causes will be that the phone battery has been recharged to the point that it cannot hold sufficient power any more or that there's a fault with the base station. Any large metal objects close to the base station will also cause a weaker signal than normal.

I hope that I've helped, if so then please rate my answer. if not then please supply additional details and I or another expert will be able to provide a more relevant answer.

Handset has message Out of Range even though it is fully charged on on the handset.

The handsets are reading out of range because they have lost connection with the base. This happens mostly during peak power demands or power outages, but can also happen when the phone is unplugged for any amount of time. This can also cause, at times, the answering machine to stop picking up calls. To remedy this issue, reset the phone system. Please follow the instructions below:
To reset the phone:
1. Disconnect the power adapter, phone line, and remove all batteries from the base and all handsets. Leave it disconnected for 30 seconds to reset the base.
2. Place the batteries in the handsets first and then plug in the power adapter and phone line. Do not place the batteries back in the base yet.
3. Put the handset in the charge cradle.
4. It may take up to 1 minute for the "Out of Range" to clear from the display.
5. Once the "Out of Range" is cleared from the handset place the back up batteries back into the base.
