Error burning iso file on Roxio Creator Basic ver 9.0.117

I get an error message saying "There was a problem writing to the disc. You can try again by clicking the Retry button. You will need another blank disc ready."

I have retried with several new discs, same error each time.

The detailed error is listed as follows. (but is of not much of the help for me.) How can this be resolved?

I found that burning images with roxio can be a bummer, plus it is slow. Here is a free program that works great:

Hello,

Please have it try to reinstall your software application and next time be sure to uninstall it first then reboot your computer then reinstall the software and this time make sure that you have installed the software completely and successfully in order to prevent this error message again. If the result is still the same then please contact the supplier or shop/store you buy the software and ask them to check the software you buy if it is defective or not.

Thanks

I bought an HP laptop from Best Buy 3 years ago. Booklet instructions said I did not have to make recovery discs. Roxio Creator Basic was on computer when I bought it 3 years ago.. I liked program and used...

First, may I recommend Nero Burnlite 10? Nero BurnLite 10 is your solution for CD and DVD burning and copying, powered by the industry's best software. The easy-to-use interface lets you make flawless copies of music files or home videos to share, or create disc images in .iso and .nrg formats. Download it for FREE today!

If you don't like Nero, you may like CDBurnerXP. CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs. It also includes the feature to burn and create ISOs, as well as a multilanguage interface. Everyone, even companies, can use it for free. It does not include adware or similar malicious components. It is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista/2008/Win7 (x86 / x64). Download it for FREE today!

You will need to contact HP to try and obtain another copy of Roxio Easy Creator Basic, if they even have it anymore. I would recommend sticking with one of the previously mentioned CD burning programs because they are more stable than Roxio, and burn better quality CDs.

In Roxio Creator 10, I attempt to burn a disk of a slide show. I receive an error message 8004520C When I check production it reports no problem. This is repeatable.

Generally, defragmenting your hard disk will resolve this issue. To defragment your computer:

  1. Go to Start--> Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Disk Defragmenter.
  2. When the Disk Defragmenter window opens, choose Defragment.

If defragmentation doesn't resolve the issue, burn your project as a data file, and then burn your project as a data disc using Disc Copier or Creator Classic. To create a disc image/data file:

  1. After clicking the Burn button, the Burn Project window opens.
  2. You have two data burning options:
    • Image file - this option will save your project as an .ISO file. To burn this file you will need to use the Burn Image option in Creator's Copy section.
    • Folder Set - burning a folder set will create a Video_TS folder that you can burn using Creator Classic. Burning a folder set to DVD will create a fully functional DVD. Do NOT rename the Video_TS folder other wise it will not play! Simply place it in a folder that is the name of your project if you need to keep track.

Cannot burn AVCHD disk. Get this error

The problem with creator 2009 has been fixed by the roxio people.
Instead of burning directly to the DVD disk as roxio software states,
one needs to first save this to be AVCHD movie as a file and then burn directly from the file. This works OK, but as stated this is different
from what the software claims. I'm happy. Thanks

Error when attempting to write disk

Sometimes the driver that is used to burn CD's gets corrupted, you should try removing and re-installing roxio. The only other possibility is a bad CD burner drive, but these are dirt cheap to replace these days, you should easily be able to find one under 40$.

Using roxio creator basic v9 when i burn disc its writing to the disc (700MB) without giving free space,i just made a copy of original cd which has 162MB,after writing to new disc, showing 700MB used..

Burned CDs always show as being fully used. That is so users don't think they can just copy files onto it. The way to find out how much free space is to subtract the amt. of space used from the capacity of the CD. Also most CDs are burn-once so after you burn it you can't add or delete files anyway. Only CD or DVD "RW" (read-write) discs allow you to re-use them.

File images

There is no need to convert iso. Better you go to select file and select all the avi file you need to write on the CD/DVD. The files will be transferred on your disc.

Roxio Creator Basic v9 does not work with jpg files

The "burn image" option you are getting into is for burning full CDs of data, like a 1 to 1 copy.

You want to click on the Data Disk option. Then you can add files, or whole folders of files. You can change the default name "Volume Label" to what ever you want.

Hope this helps.
