Which breaker does it trip? The MCB or the RCD?
If the former, the motor is taking too much current and that might be caused by shorted turns, a defective centrifugal switch (if fitted) or a shorted start or start/run capacitor.
If the unit has been standing for a while it could be the pump is frozen - some units provide access for a hexagon key so the pump can be turned manually a couple of revolutions before switching on the power.

If the RCD has tripped it is because there is an insulation breakdown and current is leaking to ground.

Make sure that your circuit breaker did not go off and you have power..

Turn on the water after connecting the hoses. Then connect an ohm meter to the hot and ground legs of the male power plug. Push the on/off button to on and then pull the trigger. When you do that your ohm meter should indicate the resistance of the motor windings. If the resistance still stays at zero, then 1 - your motor is burnt out, 2 - the on/off switch is not working, 3 - the water pressure switch is electrically open. Check all three for proper operation and replace as needed.

Check and see if you are getting power to the on/off swith. These switches have been known to go bad. Also, check the Ground fault breaker in the plug. Let me know how you make out.

This could well be just needing a new motor capacitor as this helps the motor to start.

Sounds like you are only getting 120 volts instead of 240 volts. Either a house electical problem or wiring in range. First go to your breaker and turn it off and on three times and give it a little extra push each time you flip it. ( You can actually flip a breaker off and on without resetting a blown breaker if you doni't push it all the way off and all the way on. If the breaker throws itself off do not reset it. You have an elecrical short in your house or range. If resetting the breaker does not work then you need to test for 240 volts coming into the range. We don't recommend you do any electical testing unless you know what you are doing with electicity. If you have 240 volts going to the range then unplug your range and remove the backing panel off the back of the range. Look for burned wiring or terminal blocks. If there is nothing obvious then you need to know how to read a wiring schematic and use a electical tester to go any farther. Let me know if this helps. Good Luck, Appliance Specialists

did any outlets stop working, mat be a tripped or bad breaker in elect. panel she if one breaker is tripped. flip off and back on, could se short in fan but unlikely. if cannot see tripped breaker, turn off computor, tv, any appliance you have on and go down breakers and flip off and back on. if a short is present one breaker will trip back off. call repair

Your heat strip has burned out, shorted against the frame, and kicked the breaker. Take off the back, it is not hard to replace. Be sure all breakers are turned off.
