Possibly
but only if the lines then goes through the bucket controller valves and the hydraulic oil is compatible
Far better to replace the pto pump

SOURCE: john deere 2010 tractor. pto grinds and wont engage

The PTO usually has a clutch that has to be engaged so that you can select the PTO rotation setting. I had a problem like that on my tractor and all it needed was a little adjustment on the PTO clutch lever, so it could disengage the PTO gearbox properly.

First thing u might want to check is the governor--Make sure the spring and linkage is hooked up properly and the governor is moving freely.

SOURCE: where will i find the hydraulic filter on my

The filter and suction strainer should be behind the hitch or "lift" cover. There will be a paper filter element normally with a suction screen under it. Be sure to pull the suction screen and clean the area surrounding it. You may be able to call your the Ford/New holland dealer for your area and get a little more precise information also. As I recall these are common sump with the transmission, but I could be mistaken on that. Best regards, Marvin

That's because you have two separate pumps controlling each. My best advice is to get a farm mechanic to take a look...it may be a simple seal to a need for a rebuilt pump. www.nyagparts.com

Where is the hydraulic filter on a 1964 Ford tractor

Here is the manual for the 2000, 3000, 4000 and 5000,

More info added;
The rear differential fluid level check plug is behind your right heel as you are seated on your tractor. Once again, it is a small square-headed pipe plug. You may have to squat down to see this plug.

The rear differential reservoir is where your hydraulic pump draws fluid. The filler cap is on top of the rear differential center housing. (some have two filler caps there - both serve the same purpose).

The drain plugs are square-head plugs that are recessed. You have to get under the trans and rear end to see them. Also, the drawbar may obscure the rear end drain plug. I have to unbolt my drawbar and slide it back to get to my rear drain plug.

Use FORD 134A tractor hydraulic fluid or equivalent Universal Tractor Fluid in both reservoirs. You can get UTF from Tractor Supply Stores, auto parts stores, Wal-Mart, etc.

There is a hydraulic filter and suction screen deep down below your hydraulic lift cover (under the seat). If you want to change the filter, and clean the screen, you will have to pull the hydraulic lift cover. And there are other items to remove before you can access the filter. I feel that you will need a shop manual before you tackle this job.

If the hydraulic pump will not pump, after you've determined that the hydraulic reservoir is full, you can prime the hydraulic pump by pulling the test plug on the pump and rigging up a clear plastic line back to the fill port. Start the engine and let it pump until all the air bubbles are expelled.

After you get your lift working, refill the rear reservoir with the lift arms raised.

Why front bucket nor rear lift arms will not move?

by your description im assuming that your rerfering too a tractor , with it seems none of your hydraulic implements that move, i guess first thing to ck is proper fluid level in hydraulic res tank (not confused with engine oil) second is to make sure hydaulic pump is turning some tractors use a Pto drive shaft right off the transmission or front of engine and others use a belt that drives off the water pump need to ck all these things

Does the pto have anything to do with the lift on a tractor?

Sometime around 1950 Ford tractors started using "live PTO". Prior to that the power lift for equipment required that the PTO be on and running (turned on by a lever on left side of chassis below the driver's seat). So 'yes' the older tractors (many in use today) require the PTO to be running in order for the lift arms to lift equipment. I find this very annoying when trying to run a mower, especially when the hydraulics don't hold very well.

Ford 4000 hydraulic problems

First, make sure there is plenty of hydraulic oil in the reservoir
2nd, no leaks that are dumping the pressure
3rd, no blockage in tubes, located inside pump housing.
4th, make sure operating handle is engaging
try these and if nothing works let me know.
