Caller ID and menu has stopped. Could I need to replace the battery? Where do I purchase TCX805 battery?

Hello Samiran mandal, here is a solution.I purchased one cordless telephone (Siemens Gigaset) in Germany. I also had the same problem, caller-id did not work. I purchased this telephone because we can set different ringtones for different caller groups. But, if caller-id doesn't work, this feature also doesn't work. I had gone through internet and finally found that CA electronics, Bangalore has it and got it through courier (I live in Pondicherry). It worked flawlessly for two years. Then it stopped working. For 'no reason' I ordered for a 'caller-id' unit on ebay for Rs.75/- (+ Rs.75 shipping). I just got the unit and fixed it to my line. Very very surprisingly, my cordless telephone is now showing caller info. This is a real surprise to me. By the way, caller-id unit is "Eurotel" make, DTMF/FSK caller-id. I feel this is very nice solution. The 'caller-id' unit is nice (backlit display) and also there is no need of converter for using the caller-id feature of your foreign telephone. I connected caller-id between the line and telephone. That's all. Enjoy.

Press MENU button, scroll to Talk Caller ID by pressing up or down arrow keys, then press Select. Choose off or on by pressing the up or down arrow keys, press Save then press OFF to end

From the manual:

1. Press the CALLER ID-VOLUME ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to the RINGER VOLUME sub-menu.
2. Press mute/menu OK button to enter the menu. SET RINGER LEVEL 5 shows in the display.
3. Use the CALLER ID-VOLUME ( 6 or 5) button to scroll to your selection. LEVEL 5 is the default setting.
4. Press the mute/menu OK button to save your selection. You will hear a confirmation tone and the new volume setting shows in the display.

I just got off the phone with a GE rep, they said to unplug all phones from the wall for 15 minutes, then remove the batteries and put them back in the opposite way they came out. That will reset the system and fix the problem.

If it does not fix it, you'd need to purchase new phones.

Page 25 of the owners manual says you can turn off talking caller id separately for the handset and base unit. For the handset, press [MENU], scroll to "Talk Caller ID" by pressing the down or up arrows, then press Select, then select "off" or "on", then press Save, then Off.

For the Handset, press [MENU], then scrol to "Initial setting", then press Select. Scroll to "Set base unit", press Select. Scroll to "Talk Caller ID", then press Select. Select "Off" or "On" by pressing up or down arrows.

I solved my challenge by buying a new phone system and no I did not purchase your brand again. Hope I was more helpful than you were. Have a great day.

Not sure why this worked, but I went to the Menu and the Set Area Code selection. The area code setting was blank, so I entered my area code and saved it. Caller ID started to work again. As a test, I went back to the Set Area Code selection and deleted the area code and saved it. It is currently still working. Seems really odd, but it worked for me.

For people who have purchased cordless phone in usa and caller id is not working they should purchase fsk to dtmf converter at any local phone shop and caller id will start working.

Detailed Product Description

There are 3 major caller ID specifications in the world: DTMF, ETSI FSK and Bellcore FSK. When users buy a foreign telephone devices(such as cordless phone, fax machine or computer telephony interface), may encounter the problems of non-match for caller ID standard. This will cause the device unable to display the caller ID. EX220 can solve this problem easily. For example, if you live in Netherlands, Saudi or India, the caller ID standard is DTMF. i had to delete the caller id which was full. everything works now.
