Cmt HS-5600 scooter why does a wrench light indicator on joystick panel flashes 7 times when you move joystick in any direction?

make sure that the free wheel levers are in drive position. Also the charger is unplugged. restart and see if that took care of it. Also check the wires coming out of the joystick that they have not been damaged somehow.

Sounds like the throttle pot is bad and will need replacing, try changing speed level and try again. if it works then speed pot will need replacing. Scooter Doctor App

Usually a generic 'trouble' indicator. Can you read out the error codes or fault log?

According to Pride's troubleshooting documents the service indicator (wrench icon) will flash when a fault is detected by the dynamic controller.

The number of flashes, followed by a 2 second pause, indicates the issue. You will need to count the flashes to determine the cause and a possible solution.

• Flash Code: One, pause, one
  
• Cause: Possible Stall Timeout
  
• Possible Solution: Turn joystick off, then on.

• Cause: Battery Fault
  
• Possible Solution: Charge batteries, check battery connections and fuses.

• Flash Code:Three, pause, three
  
• Cause: Left Motor Fault
  
• Possible Solution: Make sure the left motor is plugged in.

Your version has a Dynamic Controls model controller and joystick.
Unplug the charger and engage the motor/brake lever so the chair is no longer in free-wheel mode (con't push by hand)
Turn the chair off, wait 5 seconds, turn the chair back.
If chair still does not run and your wrench is flashing you have a problem. Count the wrench flashes - the flash count indicates the error detected. 3, 4, 5, and 6 flashes indicate and error with the motors.
3=Left motor fault
4=Right motor fault
5=Left brake fault (may not be engaged)
6=Right brake fault (may not be engaged)
Any other fault code usually means the electronics or wiring is bad and not worth fixing.

alaker the 7 flashes indicate a joystick problem. Make sure that the joystick is centered before you turn the chair on. If it is centered and you still get the flashes then there is a problem that can only be fixed by a new joystick. Sorry for the bad news. Did Medicare pay for your chair? If they did then they will pay most of the replacement costs. Check with the provider that sold you the chair or with Roadrunner Mobility (On the web) to get it repaired Hope this helps
