If you are talking about te part where the filter goes in, i found it best to get a cup of warm water and take filter out and add water and swirl it around a little dishsoap in the water will help. if your talking about inside the actual ball that rolls. there is nothing in their you should need to worry about that is where the motor is and usually doesnt need cleaning because of all the great filter system that dyson has good luck

SOURCE: Dyson Animal .. how to get to Chyclone chambers for cleaning??

The cyclone assembly is glued and cannot be taken apart. The best way of cleaning it , is to remove the top held on with three hex screws , the bottom collecting vessel and the perforated filter. Then blast the cyclones from above with either a pressure washer or hose with a high water pressure source. Leave to completely dry , then reassemble.

SOURCE: I have a Dyson Animal

I looked in our DC07. I would try removing the top again and getting a long dowel or the opening rod, insert it down into the unit and PUSH. The opening rod opens the latch by pushing it, not pulling it. Here are some pictures of the latch. Top pic is in the unlock position. Bottom is the normal position.

I hope this helps.

you might be missing a blockage in the hose from the brushes to the dust collector Take apart the hoses and check

There is a linkage between the on/off and the beater bar switch that probably has came loose or is broken. It also could be wires shorting out.

Ball makes a clicking noise every 0.25 metres. Please help

Please read this answer all the way through there is something that may be relevant (strike out 'important') at the end !

Maybe it's this
"clip that holds the filter in place and the locating lug of the access flap to gently rub together as the ball rotates and create a slight clicking noise as the appliance is moved around (though is not routinely noticed due to the motor noise)"
(from Fully Cleaned Serviced Refurbished Dyson DC25 Animal Ball Vacuum Cleaner )
stop press - I just saw this - if you do not have proper Dyson brand HEPA filters - see end of answer - you may get a loud clicking sound....
The manual tells you about removal and cleaning HEPA filter - the All floors version has one as well)
Otherwise I can only refer to Dyson support, there are various ways of contacting them given at the top right of this webpage Support forDC25 Multi Floor
(the user guide manual is downloadable from this webpage)
Sounds to me as if maybe there is an irregularity on the ball that is contacting the body/ball housing every time the ball does round....unfortunately this makes the ball diameter ~8cm which too small.

My Dyson Dc37 recently had a blockage which made the power bar ( for carpets) stop turning. I found and cleared the blockage, but the suction wasn't enough to turn the power bat on again. I checked every...

Yes, you should clean the filters regularly. Dyson's claim "the vacuum that never looses suction" is IMHO crazy. A regular filter cleaning will keep good suction *and* significantly prolong the life of the vacuum motor. Vacuum motors which are starved for air will actually draw more power/current, overheat (current & lack of cooling) and eventually burn out.

A video on the filter cleaning is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8gMAWHCrVo
be sure to let that guy dry for a day -- you don't want any moisture entering the motor.

I'm not sure what exactly the "purple thing" is except for the filter though so perhaps I am misunderstanding your question. It is also possible and quite well documented that the funnels at the top of the vacuum chamber that form the cyclones can become blocked/impacted. this is particularly true when the vacuum is overfilled. Sometimes it is best to disassemble the upper chamber to remove impacted material or dislodging via "knocking it about" can be helpful! :) But I don't know how to test for blocked cyclone tubes.
