Check the bulb ballast board for discolored parts. That board controls the lamp and is the board that the wires from the lamp socket connect to.

You gonna have to replace the Main Board.

Connect Apple tv to Philips LX700

OPTION 1 (using remote):

Press the system key on the remote,
find the digital input option,
choose optical,
finish!

OPTION2: (Using LX700 button)
"program" button on the front panel for 5 seconds,then press LEFT or RIGHT button to choose DIGITAL INPUT,and Press "program" button again,then change coaxial to optical by rotating VOLUMN control on the front panel. then just confirm by pressing the "program" button again and wait for 5 sec to quit menu. Now switch OFF and switch ON receiver again.

Now make sure the source id DISC IN (ie., digital input ).
Your LX700 should be picking up optical signal!!

It worked for me and i hope it works for you to as well.

My Christie projector, DS+60 works fine for three hours. After 3 hours it starts flickering and the display brightness goes down. If we keep it off half an hour, the projector will work for another 3 hours...

That could be a failing lamp or ballast unit.

Receiver to ps3 optical - no sound

Check the settings on your PS3, I have my PS3 connected the this system using optical (by way of an AV switch) and have no issues.
