How to remove string head on Homelite UT33650a

I have the string head down to it's base plate. Obviously there is a nut holding the plate to the shaft, it looks as though it would twist off. But, I can't figure how to lock the shaft so that I can twist it. I guess from the answer I received I am not being clear. I am attempting to remove the entire string cutter head so that I can replace it with a metal bladed "brush cutter" head. There is an obvious nut holding it on, but I cannot turn it unless I can lock the shaft.

SOURCE: Homelite strin trimmer head wont rotate

The only way to access the bottom of the metal shaft is to break it. This is fused on at the factory. It sounds like your flexshaft has twisted in two. Remove the flex shaft from the engine end and see if it is in one whole piece or is damaged in someway. If it rotates at the top but doesn't rotate at the string head this is probably the problem. However, Homelite no longer offers just the flex shaft for purchase. You would probably have to purchase the shaft and the tube as a unit.
But if you are saying the spool and string is not turning at the bottom it could be that the cup which holds the string has worn and can not longer be turned by the shaft. Replace the cup that holds the string.
Another possibility is that the shaft have moved forward, away from the engine and just need to be jammed back in, and retightened (the handle grip and the boom clamp).

SOURCE: Stihl FS45 2 cycle string trimmer. Bought in 5/06

Dealer says shaft has broken. Stihl had a problem with some FS45's doing this. They are trying to have it repaired under warranty.

Thanks for the response.

SOURCE: Ref: Stihl FS46 string trimmer. Broken Flex shaft.

Remove orange sheild, remove single screw holding head in shaft then grab head with pliers and twist side to side until complete head is free. You should then be able to grab part of shaft. On power head loosen screws {about one turn each} that hold two white case halves near trigger,I think there are four, then there is a single torx screw on the bottom of lower case half in the middle that must be taken out to allow tube to be removed.Romove flexshaft from top.Check 4 plastic burnt to flexshaft,if there is you must replace tube liner as well, usally around bent part of tube the liner will go bad.

How do i remove sprocket from chainsaw homelite ut10588

The washer needs to removed too as it may have dropped into a thread. Other than that there nothing that shouldn't be anything holding the sprocket drum; unless you have a clutch or needle bearing failure.
Note: only 6 tooth .375 sprocket is available and than it is an aftermarket one. The 8 tooth .325 spocket is no longer available.

Broken pull cord mac320v leaf blower

The pull string is in a housing underneath the fan. Remove the left (as you're holding the blower with the outlet facing away) housing. The blower fan is visible. Use a 1/2" light duty impact driver, it's a conventional clocking leftie loosie rightie tightie. Remove nut, thick flat washer, fan, and another thick flat washer. Three screws are holding the pull string housing. Remove the housing. Three more screws and thin flat washers, and the spool is in your hand. Reassemble in reverse order.

How do I remove the cutting head on my homelite HLT=15

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/homelite-hlt15-ut20602-string-trimmer-parts-c-18807_20299_21185.html

Here is a diagram of it. It is reverse threaded so you have to turn it like you was tightening it to loosen it. Clockwise looking at it from the bottom of the head. But there is a clutch that will let the whole thing turne. The best way is to remove the shaft from the weedeater and hold the shaft with some vice grips. Or you may be able to hold it right above the head, before the shaft tube.
