I have a power acoustiks ps2-1200 it has power but the red light is on indicating that its in protection mode for some reason any idea why

There is a short or wires are touching, Then again it could be because the remote(Blue wire) From amp to stereo which tells it to turn on and off has been connected to the wrong wire and is not working effectively.
Check for any shorts check all wires from both ends it shouldn't take long and make sure no wires are even slightly touching.

Missing wire 4 from manual....whats the name of wire

just had the same problem-it does not come with the stereo or even the DTV1 box, it only comes with the NAV1 unit. Luckily I found a local stereo shop that sold me one out of ther NAV1 box since I only bought the DTV1 box with the stereo and I needed it. So hopefully you will have teh same luck , either that or you will have to buy it directly from Power Acoustik.
