what model pioneer writer are you after

if you give me details of the 3 pioneer drives you have I will try to track another down

if your cd or dvd writer is not playing movies then this is a problem of your cd/dvd writer's lens.you can repair your cd/dvd writer and then you acn see any movie on your system.

On the back of a CD-writer or a DVD-writer is a small grid (2 rows) of gold pins.

Each vertical set of pins is labelled: MA(ster), SL(ave), and C(able)S(elect).
Be sure that one drive has a small jumper between the MA pins,
and the other drive has a small jumper between the SL pins.

Was there any software on CD-ROM that came with the DVD-writer,
e.g., software to play DVDs, and software to write CDs and DVDs?
To "play" a DVD, you'll need that software.
To "play" a music CD, Windows Media Player will suffice.

i have same problem. i tried to fix it myself but didnt work its the problem of dvd-writer no problem with software, i know becoz i took my friend's dvd-writer and its woking absolute fine, so better take it to some hardware repair shop.

hi..you need to pull out the player then try make repair the player and replace the belt if have a belt if not u need to try re-alignment the gear or tray of player..so Good Luck..and have a nice..GOD Bless You...^_^

Turn the burn rate down.If that does not solve the problem.reinstall the burn program.

Make sure the jumper on the back of the new drive is set the same as the old one. EXAMPLE: Slave, Master, Cable Select

it is not possible but what u can do is find another same model(which does not work from used up product market ) writer and open it take out the try watch carefully how it is fixed to the writer,now open all the screws of your writer carefully,and replace the one which you have bought from used up items.fit all the screws back and check if it works. if it does not then i am sorry to say you will have to buy a new one.But ya u cld do 1 thing check if the warranty is still there if yes then quickly replace it.
