Clean the magazine tube. There is probably buildup of bullet lube. Try to use ammo that has less greasy/waxy lube.

SOURCE: bullets get gamed and lever locks up in open

have a look on the internet there are blow up photos of the marlin rifle there realy very easy to strip, but putting them back right,,,
well your lad did not! *** him!! wip the screw out the side for the under leaver half open the bolt and pull the under leaver down and out the gun, then pull the bolt out the rear end,,you may see what he has *ucked up in there,,,the side loading door is held on be a small screw if you drop the side door into the gun you will need to strip out the loading leaver as well to put it right,,,so dont do that!,,, let the side door screw off just a little and put the door in the right place then nip up the screw,, dont strip it!!! then slide the dolt half way into the rifle and push the loading under leaver back into the bolt,, put the under leaver screw back in and close the bolt with the leaver,,,if its not closing its in wrong again,,,rember you need to engage the leaver in the bolt before you can close the bolt,, if its not picking up the rounds its the lifting arm,,,thats a man size job look on the net for the blow up photos,,,but you may well need some expert help then,,,im not there but if i was i could strip it in my sleep? but go to googel,, and type in "marlin rifles"

Testimonial: "Thank you for your time.I tore it down,,found the lifting arm at the end near barrel bent open more then it should, locking the lifting movement,TY Don"

Vx3i 4.5-14x50mm with cds turret tops out at about 450 yards. Turret gets tight. Shooting 300 win mag zeroed at 200 yards 180 grain boat tail loads. Am I maxing out my adjustment with the 1" tube?

Probably. You can use a 1913 rail with a forward incline to get more elevation. How far are you trying to shoot? 450 yards is further than most hunters will try to take game because of terminal ballistics and ability to precisely place the shot for a clean, humane kill. Target shooting is still getting close to out of range - bullet drop on a 300 win mag 180 grainer is pretty severe - at 500 yards it is falling 55 inches, and it gets progressively worse with heavier bullets and longer ranges.

At less than 300 yards this caliber will take down any large game animal in North America. You have chosen a very effective caliber, but all calibers have limitations.

Reloading data useing somchem 385 in 308 norma magnum with 180g bullets

Start with a couple good loading manuals. The bullet and powder manufacturer web site all usually have loading
data. I like to start with the bullet mfg. Using data
from any " Keyboard Commando " Handloader without
proper research, comparison &. testing is a very dangerous thing

Can u please ecplsin why when u put a bullet in the breavh with your fingers the bolt wont close but when u put it in the magazine it goes in and locks done fine is thst a saftey system

I think you are asking for an EXPLANATION of why, when you put a bullet in a CHAMBER with your fingers the bolt won't close but when you put the bullet in the magazine, it goes in the chamber and the bolt locks DOWN fine. Is THAT a safety system?

ANSWER:
No, it is not a safety system. I am assuming that you are speaking of a standard BOLT ACTION rifle in a centerfire caliber configuration. The extractor, located near the bolt face is why it won't close. When you put the bullet into the chamber and then try to shut the bolt, the extractor has to jump over the rim of the shell casing. When you place the bullet in the magazine and then shut the bolt, the bolt face pushes the bullet up out of the magazine allowing the rim of the case to slide between the bolt face and the extractor claw and feed into the chamber. After firing or if you simply just want to remove the bullet from the chamber, pulling the bolt rearward, the extractor claw hangs onto the rim until the case hits an extractor bar causing the shell to fly out of the rifle.
A good question.
I would suggest a firearms training session. Check with the NRA or a local gun club for help.

I have a Ruger 556, I want to know if the Hornaday Black 75 grain will shoot well with a 1:8"RH twist and how many yards out will it take a deer out?

1:7 would be ideal, but your rifle may shoot this ammo very well.you will just have to try it out.bullet placement is critical with a small caliber,but,300 yards should be ok,if you put where it needs to be

Did a school teacher fire a gun and injure 3 students in a classroom

Yes, according to press reports. But bullet shrapnel hit one, and ceiling debris hit two other students.
