I have tried everything recommended in the Manuel and your site and the thread still will not pick up the bobbin thread. I do not know what else to do and it is driving me crazy.

It is very difficult to tell you what needs to be done from where I sit. I will say that it is possible that the needle needs to be adjusted down a little. Also when you set your bobbin, are you pulling out enough thread for the needle to catch. What I mean by this is you should be pulling out thread and then sliding the cover over the thread. Sometimes when you read those manuals they can be very confusing. Good Luck Friend.

SOURCE: Needle won't pick up bobbin thread - HELP!!!

I recently fixed my wife maching with the same problem. I found that the screw had come loose that holds the linkage together that rotates the bobbin holder. I was fortunate enough to notice the screw while looking at the machine. To replace it requires taking both the front and back covers off of the frame since the bobbin holder linkage is in the rear behind the needle area. Be careful to insure that the plastic toothed "rail" that runs the bobbin holder is positioned properly or it may break off a tooth. Once I replaced the screw and put the machine back together, it picked up the thread with no problem. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: The needle thread will not pick up the bobbin thread

It looks right but its not. Try looking on the internet for threading instructions. The bobbin winds in two directions, I have never saw a Bernina but I have 2 new machines and the thread goes in and then threads back to the left. Its hard to describe. But if the bobbin isn't right it will not pick up the thread. Write to Bernina for instructions. There are websites that have the directions for free.

SOURCE: will not pick up bobbin thread

Unusual for this machine. Check to be sure the needle is inserted with the flat side to the back of the machine. If it is, remove the needle plate, bobbin and bobbin case. Turn the hand wheel slowly toward you and see if the point of the hook is above or below the eye of the needle when the hook point is aligned behind the needle. If the eye is above the point of the hook the machine is out of time and best taken to qualified technician.

I have a singer sewing machine 5932. it will not pick up its thread from bobbin. it will not sew. i have checked everything i know . i know a little about sewing machines.

Try installing a brand new needle. Confirm it is installed facing the correct direction in the machine. A bent/.damaged needle or one that is installed incorrectly frequently will not pick up the bobbin thread.

If you've confirmed it's correct and still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread, then it's likely the machine has been knocked out of time, ie the needle and hook are out of sync. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

I have brother xl2620 changed thread and now won't pick up thread from bobbin. Have cleaned everything still won't work

Try a brand new needle. Check that the bobbin is loaded and threaded correctly. Change the type of thread you are using--Avoid old or bargain bin variety. If these recommendations don't help, the machine may need its timing fixed. Search for sewing machine timing or take it for service.

The bobbin thread isn't being taken

You state that the bobbin thread is not being picked up by the needle, have you had one or two jams whilst sewing if so then I'm 99% sure you have knocked the cotton pick up hook out of timing potion, the shuttle bobbin sits in the hook case and as the hook rotates in the correct rotation the needle is at it's lowest point and at the same time the pick up hook should just about to go behind the needle as it starts to rise and it's at this point on the way up that the bobbin thread is being picked up, so if the timing as been knocked out of potion it as to be rotate with a little force whilst holding the and wheel and the needle in it's lowest position so that the hook is just and only just going behind the needle and that's it give it a run, normally I would say slacken the clamp screws that secure the hook assembly onto it's shaft, but you can usually get away without doing this it saves time and hassle. Hope you can understand what I have put down as instructions for resetting the hook if it's the case of being out of position.

I do not have a manuel on a singer 57817c and want to know how I thread the bobbin

Look here http://new.singerco.com/products/detail/88 for a manual for your machine. But first look here for how to wind the bobbin on your machine http://www.singerco.com/resources/bobbin_wind.html and then this page for threading the bobbin http://www.singerco.com/resources/operation_basics.html You'll have to pick which type of bobbin you have to view the correct set of pictures for your machine.

Bobbin Thread won't come through

Thread the machine and the bobbin. Turn the handwheel towards you with your right hand and hold the the top thread in your left hand pulling slightly to the back of the machine. When the needle goes into the needle plate keep turning the handwheel untill the needle picks up the bottom thread and by pulling the top thread you shold be able to pull the botoom thread through the needle plate.

Practise makes perfect.
