SOURCE: Brushes won't turn

this would be a bad turbine and is fairly simple to replace. first take all the screws from the base of your steam vac. then look toward the top under the dirty water tank there will be a black tube with 4 screws that also need to be removed. i believe after this you should be able to remove the hood assy. if not there may be one more screw on the hood, if so remove. at this point you should see the bad part.take 2 more screws and hoses from it and install the good part. hope this helps, this machine is fairly new to me also.

SOURCE: I need a service manual Electrolux 6500

I don't have a service manual but maybe I can give you some instructions that will make some sense. Open the front of the canister and remove the bag. As you are looking at the front of the unit, there are two vinyl covered strips that run the length of the unit. Pull forward on these strips and then pull out so that the vinyl separates from the plastic underneath. Now grab the plastic strip with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull towards the front of the canister. These can be tough if the machine has never been opened up before, but pull as hard as you need to, to slide the strip out. Once both strips are out, turn the machine over, pull out on the sides of the bottom of the unit, and lift up. The bottom should come of relatively easily, and everything will be exposed. The control valve rests under the bag housing, since the machine is now upside down. I hope this helps. Good Luck!!

SOURCE: Electrolux 1572E (Discovery II) How to remove

Remove the handle assembly by taking the big screw out and pull up on the handle. Remove the four screws where the top half connects to the bottom half. Two on the outside back and two on the inside front where the bag goes. You'll need a long phillips #2 screwdriver. Always have the power disconected. Pull up on the bag housing while twisting it side to side.
Good luck after you get in.

SOURCE: Disassemble electrolux olympia one vacuum.

Before taking the machine apart, always check for clogs in the hose and power nozzle, full bag, and/or plugged hole under the bag. Suction/vacuum loss can also be caused by leaky or cracked hose, including the section in the power nozzle.
The best way to check for clogs is simply drop a large marble in one end and let it roll through. To check for leaks in hose, hook to exhaust port, pour a small amount of liquid dish soap in other end of hose, lift high and turn on vacuum. Bubbles will appear at badly worn spots and cracks in hose.
There is no need to pull out the motor, as their is no filter surrounding it, motor does not need lubrication, and the above check should result in locating the problem.
Repair manuals are only available to Electrolux franchise owners as highly restricted software.

SOURCE: how do i get into the electrolux discovery II

There are two square holes on the outer side of the wheels. Use a flathead screwdriver in these to release the latches. Turn the powerhead over and carefully lift the back of the cover off and pull back slightly to lift off. To remove the brush and/or replace the belt, remove the tiny screw on each end of the brush and lift brush out.

How do I get to the belt on my electtrolux discovery 2 vacum cleaner. took the bottom screws out but still cant get top off?

There are clips holding it together. On the bottom of the power head are two square "holes". Insert a standard screwdriver to release the latches. Once they've released and the cover is loose, turn the power head over and lift the back. Don't force it off.
You will then need to remove the screw at each end of the brush.
When reassembling it, be sure the front of the cover is inserted into the groove in the base. Then press gently down until it clicks into place.

How to replace central vacuums Carbon Brushes

The entire brush and holder assembly has to be purchased/replaced. That's the plastic piece that screws on to the motor. I don't think you can even get brushes for their machines anymore.
Remove screws. Remove plastic piece from motor. Replace.

Beater bar stopped on discovery 2

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. There are 2 possibilities that could be happening. Either the belt is broken of which you can replace the belt @ least one a year for proper maintenance or there may be a reset for the vacuum in case you get something caught in the brushroll section of the vacuum. Check both of those items and it should work unless you have a motor burn out – if you did there would be a burning smell. Feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area.

So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
