It works best with very thick fabrics when the bottom fabric moves with the feed dogs but the top fabric doesn't, ie quilts. Also, helps when sewing slick fabrics.

SOURCE: Where do I oil a husqvarna viking lily 545 sewing

Many Viking machines do not require oiling. Viking does have manuals online for many of thier machines, I don't know which ones specifically.

I replaced the foot control on my Husqvarna Viking Model number 545 and still have problem with it not seeming to get the message to run.

I just got a great answer to the same question. If you are sure the cord is conducting electricity it may be the contacts in the machine. Check for lint on pins. If they wiggle a little you may have to remove back and tighten the screws that hold the machine wires in place.

My machine is a Husqvarna Prism 980, and I'd like to know if it's a high shank or low shank.

Take a Measure

With the presser foot in the down position, measure from the Needle plate of the machine to the center of the thumb screw of the ankle of the machine (the part that the presser foot snaps on to).

Low Shank - measures ½"
High Shank - measures 1"

Most consumer machines are low shank. There is probably not a walking foot that is made for this machine but there may be some third party suppliers that have a walking foot that will work. Stitchery Sewing Machine Attachments Needle and Thread

Viking lily 545

You can bend the arm on the walking foot a tiny bit to the left, then turn the machine by hand to see if it stays on, bend a tiny bit more and repeat.

Huskvarna 415 walking foot repair

Are you talking about an "easy feed" attachment for a home machine? (it's not really a walking foot btw) If so just buy a new one for your length of shank on the Husky.

- resetting the timing

I have been an upholsterer for over 30 years, I own a Pfaff 145 and Pfaff 545. Both are basically the same. Whenever my timing is off, where the threaded needle won't connect with the bobbin thread, I have always had success in re-setting the timing by taking apart the entire bobbin case. Remove the walking foot and the plate it walks on. Remove the bobbin and dismantle everything underneath it. Keep each piece and its screws together, and remember the order in which you removed it (last goes in first, etc.)Remove any obstructions, thread, fluff, etc. Surprisingly, when you put it all back together, your timing will be back to normal. This has always worked for me, and I hope it'll work fo you.
