SOURCE: My toshiba laptop doesnt read SDHC card

sdhc cards are not backwards compatible with sd card slots. sd cards however are backwards compatible with sdhc card slots. newer card slots and readers are sdhc and sd ready but i'm afraid your only option is to buy a usb sdhc card reader. normally the 52 in 1 readers and ones like that work well and really don't cost a lot on ebay. the only other thing you could try is to put the sdhc card in an sdhc device (such as a camera) and link it up to the laptop that way.

SOURCE: I have a Garmin Nuvi 200 and cannot load 2010 update

Install the SD Card. When you select your maps and transfer them to the device, make sure the Nuvi is plugged into the USB. When you are on the screen to "Find Device", select the dropdown menu and you should see the drive letter referencing your SD card. Select that and you should be all set.

How do I download apps onto this device?

The default on most tablets is to install apps to internal storage so the SD card does no good by itself. You can go into Settings>Applications and change the location for each app to the SD card. Likewise anything else you put on a tablet, particularly photos and videos get stored in internal storage. If you have taken a lot of photos and videos they can fill up your storage quickly. You can change this in the Camera app by tapping the settings icon and changing the storage option to SD card. You will still need to actually move existing photos and videos to the SD card manually or copy them to external storage and delete them. I would also change the image and video resolution in Camera settings to 640x480. This is plenty good enough for pictures you just want to look at on the device or share online.

I have a ZTE Maven. I kept getting messages "insufficient storage" when I would try to download new things or updates. I installed a new 32GB SD card today. I am still getting this message. Help

Your updates are initially downloaded to your internal phone memory. Then, after the download, the update gets installed to wherever you have it stored on your phone. I recommend clearing your caches and history contents, and even uninstalling older updates if necessary. Also, moving as many of your apps and photos, videos, etc. to your SD card will give your phones internal memory some room to grow; but also help protect those things if your phone were to ever break.

Hasn't saved anything to the memory card because his tablet won't allow him to .. It keeps saying not enough space it's a 8GB memory card

The internal memory cards of some Android devices are partitioned for app storage and installation. Some of them have partitions that are quite small such as one Gigabyte or smaller. The remainder of the storage cannot be used for apps.

If it keeps saying not enough memory space then chances are the app partition is full. The only way to free up some space is to uninstall some apps that are stored there but not being used. You can see which apps can be uninstalled in Settings > Apps and look at them one by one to see if an uninstall option is listed. Simply click *uninstall* to remove them from the app storage partition. This will free up some extra space for some new apps or for updates to older apps you still like and use.

Also some of the apps might show an option to move them to an external SD card (if your device has a slot for one and if an SD card in inserted therein). Do move any and all to the external SD card of you have that option as that will also free up that space from the internal SD card.

Why Does my Phone Stop Downloading Aps or Updates and Saying Not Enough Space on my Phone despite having 14GB Free on the SD Card?

Downloads and such are not going to SD card. They can be moved to SD card later. You should move some stuff to SD card to free up memory.

Garmin troubleshooting

Buy an 8GB micro SD card and install in your 50LM, then download the maps to the micro SD card. Your internal storage is not large enough for all the maps with the updates. Hope this helps.

What does code 912 mean? i get this when downloading apps from apps store

There are a few reasons why you would get a 912 error when downloading apps.
  • Downloading apps directly to an SD card
  • Play Store (app store) needs to be updated
  • Bad cache
The following methods could help solve the problem
Clear Cache and Reboot
  • Go to Setting >> Go to Application Setting (In some devices application setting is named as apps).
  • Go to, All the apps > >Find the Google Play Store >> Clear Data and Cache
  • Once you have clear everything, Next you need to Force Stop the application
  • Also, try to clear Cache and data of Download Manager and Google Service Framework.
  • Now, Restart your device and try to download the app.
Unmount SD Card
  • Go to Setting >> Storage >> Scroll down and select "Unmount SD card"
  • Open Google Play Store >> Download the app again that was giving you the error message
  • After successful installation, Go back to Settings >> Storage >> tap on "mount SD card"
  • If above steps didn't work, also try removing your SD card before installing.
Move app to phone
  • Go to Settings >> Go to Apps >> Select, All the apps
  • Scroll down and select the app that was giving you the error during update
  • Select "Move to phone"
  • Open Google Play Store and update the app
  • After successful installation, you can move the app back to SD card

Internal phone storage space nearly full

How to Transfer Apps Pictures From Internal Storage to Micro SD Card...

The above page shows a method to move files to an SD card without you having to install an app. That should free up space. There are apps that can assist with this process but you may be so short of space that you need to move some with the above method (before you can even install another app). Note that you can actually move applications to a SD card as well as photos or books or music. Some versions of operating systems restrict access to SD cards. If you experience a difficulty, you may want to access the help and support for your particular phone model and operating system version. Check for that on the brand site.
