Why is my Linksys EA 6500 displaying "SSL Connection ERR"?

It is probably not the router but your OS.
Try and run a SSL Fix program to correct the OS.

Err connection reset

Obvious thing, but have you already tried restarting the router? Sounds like an odd problem for it to only happen with wireless that that router with that laptop. That error looks like a Google Chrome error. It may be worth seeing if you still get the error with Firefox as well.

Router won't hook up to my computer Says I need a 401 access code or something

401 error code is traditionally a access denied for a web page. Are you sure this is your router denying access or some other problem.

To rule out your router, connect directly to your modem (as you probably did to send this question). If, as I suspect, you are able to connect direct but not through the router, the simple fix is to do a hard reset to the router. Find the little hole on the back or the bottom. With the device unplugged, insert a paperclip into the hole and gently depress the switch for at least 30 seconds. This will set your device to factory settings.

May I recommend Network Magic for you. Free to download and evaluate for 7 days, NM is a excellent network management tool. It will help with connection problems, device sharing and security.

Following the evaluaation period, Cisco will permit you to continue to use NM free, although some features will not function. You may find those features to be worth the couple bucks they ask for for a full license. That is up to you to decide.

Find it here: http://www.purenetworks.com/nmlp/home-networking.php?gclid=CL_Z3om1754CFUlo5QodIDUIJA&src=google&kw=network+magic+download

If you require software for the router, you can get that at www.linksys.com/support

BTW, Cisco owns both Linksys and Network Magic

I lost my directions on how to install my WRT54G router and would like to be able to access from my laptop while my wife is using our desktop

On her computer, click START
Click RUN
Type CMD and press ENTER
Type IPCONFIG and press ENTER
Look for a line like: Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 124.168.136.11
Type EXIT and press ENTER
Open a web-browser (IE, FireFox, Google Chrome, etc.)
Enter: http://124.168.136.11
to access the router's web-interface.
Login -- try ID of 'admin' with a "blank" password;
try a "blank" ID with 'admin' as the password;
try ID of 'admin' and password of 'admin'.
Click on the "Wireless Setup Wizard" button.
Configure the router for wireless access.

On your laptop, refresh the list of available networks.
It should find the newly-configured network.
Connect to it.

Password problem

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin." Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router
