I assembled mine and had the same problem. I called customer service. Apparently they left an important step out of the manual. If it is saying hello, then insert the key and press and hold the ifit sync button for approximately 20 seconds until all zeros appear. You will first see a code and then scrolling dashes on the display. Keep holding until the zeros appear. This activates the machine. The customer service rep said they get lots of calls about this because it’s not in the manual. Now it’s working perfectly.
Maybe if you register the ifit it tells you all of this. But I didn’t and thought I was stuck with a bad machine.
I just put mine together too and it's also doing that. I don't see a key for it at all. Where is the key? What does it look like? And where is it supposed to go? I suspect mine didn't come with this so I'm really confused how to get the console working.
Mine has a round red magnetic key that sits in an indented place towards the bottom of the console.
Thank you so much!!
Thanks a million

SOURCE: Nordictrack motor will not run when start button is pushed.
Likely the cover of one of the motor brushes popped off. Unplug the machine before you pop it back in place, then try it again.
If that doesn't work, most likely it's the motor control board, or possibly the console, or finally just a loose connection behind the console.
But most likely, it's the motor brush cover. I've been seeing that alot with this model.

Hello There, Unfortunately the sound are hearing is caused by a stuck button on your console assembly. When this happens you will be unable to select any buttons due to this condition.
The only fix is to replace the console assembly.
If you go to iconservice.com you can get parts and pricing information.
Get your model number before going there. Should be (PFTL788072) and is located under the walk belt on the lower frame assembly.
Good Luck! Tim

If the console takesbatteries, replace them. If this does not work or your console does not requirebatteries, check the reed switch or optic sensor. Reed Switch: Unplug the treadmill andremove the motor hood cover. The reed switch is mounted on the frame next tothe front roller pulley. There is a magnet glued into the front roller pulley. When adjusting the reed switch, make sure it is pointing directly at themagnet. Move the tip of the reed switch within 1/8" of the magnet. Also, check to see that the wire is not damaged, and is connected to the console. Optic Sensor: Unplug the treadmill and remove the motor hood cover. The optic diskand sensor are located either at the end of the motor or the right hand side ofthe front roller. The optic disk spins between two sensors on the optic switch. The disk must spin freely without touching either sensor. The sensors can bemoved by loosening the adjustment bolt holding the switch to its bracket. Theswitch can then be slid. Center the disk.
After you did these adjustments: Please tight the keypanel flexible cable vs display board and then tight the connector from display board vs lower board.
Try to clean the keypanel with spray contact cleaner with carefully and patience.
See diagrams. Good luck, sincerely. G-d bless you.
With the block diagram that I did you will have a strong resultant if the keypanel board is faulty or display board completely. See how the main motor control has 90% functions in any treadmills.
