  • wilbursgurl Dec 25, 2007

My Wii will not eject my disc. It may have been put in wrong but it wont eject.

  • maddad Dec 25, 2007

Nice Christmas for my boys, surprise them with a Wii and the damn disc won't load or eject, just stuck. Support line is closed for Christmas until tomorrow. Shiny white paperweight sitting next to the TV with disappointed boys.

  • rackl Dec 25, 2007

    loaded game disc wrong way??

  • clawmaster66 Dec 25, 2007

Same problem as MADDAD. My disk won't eject either. Great Xmas morning!

  • MadmomCDN Dec 25, 2007

I agree with maddad - Nice shiny white box, wont load or eject discs....Merry Christmas! Very disappointed kids (and parents)! Can't get through to support either...also assume the console will have to be repaired, MAYBE we will have a new Year's Eve gift for the kids???

I am having the same problem and the system keeps powering down. It worked for 1/2 hour. My boys are very disappointed. And I am so mad.

  • clawajax Dec 25, 2007

Tried inserting game cube disc - still not ejecting / any other advise?? Christmas is not very fun for my two kids!!

Wii console will not eject disc. Same problem.

  • benhood10 Dec 25, 2007

My disk is in but will not eject. It is also making clicking noises. Please help me my sun is very disappointed.

  • sahallie Dec 25, 2007

Merry Christmas!! Wii Fixed... Disk will not go all the way or come out. Made strange buzz/grinding sound. Kids crying...
Followed previous users advice. Forced disk all the way in (carefully) with a small screwdriver. Beat the disk out by rapping unit upside down to get the disk out. Removed power cord to force hard reboot. Put disk in backwards. It mysteriously started working. (would not read disk but this was an improvement). Put disk right side in and kids have not stopped playing. Only thing I can figure is that the mechanism was stuck?

For those in with the same problem, I feel your pain. I wish you the best.

WII DISK WILL NOT GO IN

  • jillann25 Dec 25, 2007

Yeah, got my girls a Wii for Christmas. Sister in law stood in line all night for it and the disk won't eject. You can play one game and one game only. Any suggestions??? Try to put another disk in did not work.

  • jottie Dec 25, 2007

I just got my wii out of the box and couldnt get the disk in without what would seem to be a little more than usual amount of push. however, whilst the motor would make trying to do stuff noises, the system wouldnt recognise that it had a disk and the disk would not eject.

Everything else seems to be working fine on my games system, I just can't actually play any games on it!!! My husband did get the disk out by pushing another disk part-way in above the games disk, forcing it down enough so that when he hit eject, the mechanism could spit the disk out but it still wont feed in properly and we aren't going to risk getting it stuck again.

grr - barhumbug :-( packing the little fella back away and looking for that pesky receipt! any other suggestions?

  • awiibitmad Dec 26, 2007

Have the same problem as well. Have 2 very disappointed sons that Santa brought them a game that doesn't work. Have Madden '08 disc stuck in the Wii. Won't play and won't eject. Incredibly annoyed Dad has tried to get the disc to eject. Haven't tried some of the suggestions here yet, but worried about breaking it more and voiding warranty. Will be calling support tomorrow to see what they suggest.

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2007

I also bought a shiny white paper weight which is sitting next to our TV - loaded the disk, not read, could not eject - finally got it out with some tweezers - now two kids totally bummed out ( along with a couple of adults) I bought this over a month ago - I'm not happy at all.

  • scbeme Dec 26, 2007

Add my family to the list. Console won't accept the CDs and makes loud "nonstandard" noises when I attempt to insert a disk. Seems Nintendo definitely has a quality control problem. Our Christmas memories of Nintendo are not the happy ones we were anticipating!

  • Anonymous Dec 26, 2007

I have spent the past 24 hours trying to troubleshoot this problem with zero success. The 800 number provided in the operators manual for support has been absolutely no help...an automated recording tells you that they are "busy" and you should call back later. Extremely disappointed in Nintendo's quality control and customer service...having spent top dollar on this item, I would expect a more responsive more support system. Compensation of some sort would be appropriate, although the damage done to my daughter's Christmas is irreversible...

  • talktalk Dec 26, 2007

The Wii took the disk but the game doesn't come up and the eject button will not eject the disk which is now stuck in the machine.

  • MadmomCDN Dec 28, 2007

just wanted to update others on the remarkable experience I had with Nintendo customer service...started calling at 8am boxing day (as per the msg) on the 1-800 #...got msg telling me extremely busy to call back later...well after almost 48 hours of regularly calling and trying to get through - I finally got through, sat on hold for 20 minutes...a "real" "live" person answered and asked me if I could "hold", as she was placing me on hold again - i heard her say "what the HeLL?"...she came back online to tell me that everyone had left, there was no one there that could help me and to call back tomorrow....What wonderful customer service, there is absolutely nothing we can do to take back the sheer disappointment we (our children) (Can't tell them Santa will fix it...cause they think that wont be till next year HAHA) suffered Christmas Day...and I can't even get through to anyone to have the problem looked at - I tried some of the suggestions listed here...but none seemed to work, I hope some of you are having more success than we are and hope you all have a good New Year's - MAYBE we will get through to Nintendo reps before then...(and the New Year's Baby/Stork can drop by for Santa to fulfill the wishes of all our disappointed children) I think we should all band together and request not only a replacement system, shipped UPS or other courier service and FREE OF CHARGE, afterall, if any of you are like me, the systems you bought were not cheap!!! but also we should be requesting "complimentary software, or Nintendo coupons" to compensate us for our disappointing and irreplacable, irreverisble Christmas 2007 memories - What do you think?

  • dispo Dec 28, 2007

Same problem...brand new Wii in nice sealed box with no signs of any damage and disk won't insert - all 5 of the new disks purchased for Christmas for the kids - they have been good about it, but I am sure upset. Must be a whole batch of bad items.  Pretty disappointing in that there is no easy way to get it fixed or get a replacement.  Can't get through to support line obviously - they won't even put you on hold when you do get through. Nintendo has been a great quality product in our past experience, but not impressed right now!

  • Anonymous Dec 28, 2007

played once, tryed to change the disk but just keeps spinning as if it aint catching... benn rining customer services all day.

  • NintendoBad_ Jan 01, 2008

Just for the record... mine too. makes awful noise when trying to insert or eject. I initially wasn't sure if there might be a problem with the first disk so I tried another. Now second disk is stuck in the console. Would be nice if there was at least a manual way to remove the disk (short of jamming foreign objects in the slot). Seems like a pretty wide spread problem, judging by this board anyway. Very disappointing after the difficulty in acquiring the system, that it does not work. Should have bought a PS3...

yeah, i tried to eject my CD one day and it wouldn't come out. when i go to the disc channel, the wii can't read the disc. i called nintendo and they told me to give them my wii and they would give me a new one but i'm worried that they'll find my mod chip and take it out.

  • Anonymous Jan 09, 2008

My kids, in their excitement, tripped on a cord and pulled the WII off the shelf- now the disc is stuck inside and will not eject. Help!

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2008

FOURTH Wii in a week disc error!!!!! Seems to be a BIG quality control issue. Bought my Wii 6 days ago and can't fault the customer service from the store - thankfully don't have to phone 1-800. First Wii wouldn't read half the discs. The store had actually brought two along and the second had similar problems. As the store was installing they took them both straight back and returned with a new one the next day (having checked it first in their shop). Third Wii worked fine for two days then wouldn't eject disc - then died totally blank screen. Fourth Wii lasted 2 hours disc read error and won't eject. Fifth Wii due to arrive Monday 7 days after we bought the first. Is this a Wiirld record?

First time I have seen this column, tried nearly all remedies offered but none have worked. I can sense a class action in the offing at this rate, though didn't buy mine in the US it is an Americas version.

  • swordfight Jan 13, 2008

i have the same problem i have resident evil 4 stuck in my wii, when i press eject i get a loud wurring noise and the blue light appears but nothing else

  • annoyedguy Jan 19, 2008

so i got the game out (i don't know how, it just sort of popped out after i shook it a bit) and now my wii won't read any of my games. it goes to the "unable to read disc" thing.

same problem... argh!!!! having had to send my 360 back it is now looking like the Wii has the same fault disc jammed will not eject looks like a lot of other users having the same issue. Will call Nimtemdo

  • thelone Mar 19, 2008

just bought a wii for my sons' birthday...same issue - didn't even load the first game -
spouse on the way back to the store - hoping they have one left.
I think it's ridiculous that the demand still so far outweighs the supply. First I had to act like a mad crazy consumer and meet the truck at the dock -
this after multiple phone calls to different stores.
then.. get the thing home and doesn't work -
    poo.
if they don't have another left I suppose I'll do the 4 day turnaround for a remanufactured one - it's just such a bummer. My son was super disappointed. Anyhow, we'll just wait and see.

i droped it and it wont eject it and it wont read the disk that is stuck in there

  • mikeyjenny20 Apr 30, 2008

Recently I have had the same problem with my son's Wii. All that he told me is that he tried to eject the disk that was already in there so that he could put in another. The Wii just made this horrible clicking sound. Thankfully for my kids and my wallet, I have an extensive background in electronics. Right after I pressed the eject button and it started clicking, I inserted 2 steak knifes in the disk slot, one on top and one on bottom. I created a set of tweezers if you wish and pinched the disk on the back. I was able to remove, not 1, but 2 disks. After that I laughed and tried to insert a disc. Still was doing the same thing but with a different tone. I did the same thing and removed 2 more disks. This worked for me and now, the Wii is up on a shelf so my 2 year old cannot get to it.

  • Anonymous May 13, 2008

im having the same problem BUT the gamecube disk is in so far i can put brawl in and it will run properly -.-' and i want my gamecube disk out

  • Anonymous May 18, 2008

Our Wii started having trouble ejecting after one of our kids knocked it over. The games play fine, but it takes several tries to get the eject to work. I turn the power off and on sometimes. Both times it has finally come out when I am holding the console horizontally (but not everytime I do that).

  • sparky008 Jun 19, 2008

  • thebeast Jun 24, 2008

I had 2 Gamecube disk struck in my WII. 1st disk was stuck, then I put in a 2nd [trying to get out the first] and both were stuck . . . tried everything, read e-mail's - nothing worked. Call Nintendo and was going to send back . . . after I printed labels, got box to send . . . I decided to try 1 more time . .. plugged in, turned it on, held it so the disk opening faced floor, pressed eject, shooked it a little, and viola . . . IT WORKED - the disk came out . . . so I don't have to send away to Nintendo on the first week of Summer . . . my son is very happy [as am I] YEAH!!

  • rixanon Nov 16, 2008

wasabi v3 soldered on d2e 3.3U firmware, 2032 is out.
its not a blown fuse, do not recommend i bypass the fuse.
doesn't eject, dont know if it sucks, probably doesn't, but i'm thinking it plays, one fuse, one motor, and it plays? must not be a blown fuse.
initially the disc channel said smash with smash disc. gave me error plz eject and restart. now disc channel says no disc doesn't spin doesn't read, disc is in there, smash. had it on for about half an hour and hasn't turned off like it had when i had first turned it on after installing. details on that are, i think, wasabi defaulted to restart on error msg for no reason(the please eject the dvd and restart error). all i need to know is could i manually get the cd out without damaging the drive or the drives ability to **** the dvds back in. is connected to the internet, inet chan shows black and i haven't waited to find out what happens if you leave it. haven't tried to update the firmware and wont. all i need to do is get this damn 1.4 dvd in there and then i'm set. i am now planning to drive to coffee shop while ac adapter is connected to wii but not to wall to wait for an hour. im thinking it is rigged like a chinaman's fkn gold vault in that there are tricks from the ac adapter to the wii not from the wall that would the damn thing would wait an hour and set a random time under an hour to make the drive continue to be non-operational. all these ppl could really waste time and hurt themselves by fkn condensing solder into a pretty loop. rio wii owns all you flickering green bastards. any mofo has a mini mouse with a credit card holder on top or next to flickering green, it is what it is, a played out chiche skank punk ***** committing bank fraud.

  • rixanon Nov 16, 2008

well i waited an hour plugged the thing in, no dice in terms of getting the drive to eject. i pressed the button quick, i turned it on and off, right side up, upside down, laying flat... anyone having problems with this make sure you set the region right on the wasabi v3 by soldering 1 to 1 for usa. usa standard of power? looking at dumps of this damn thing has me thinking region is emulated. it refuses to accept new programming altogether and dumps info on host server, good thing i have my own. maybe the only way to get a wasabi v3 d2e to eject (done properly) is to solder the flash recovery point? i think fix is 2 things, having region set to usa and flash recovery point soldered, NOT a condensed loop of solder sophisticated boredom. i suspect the point to solder to, leading from the flash recovery point, is also on the wasabi v3 chip, the point above.(J to just of right and on top C, bottom point=wasabi light:green VS same point right of C just mentioned, bottom touched to same point right of C, top=wasabi light:yellow with 15 minute kill// i suspect that is fully operational once the yellow has been on at all, meaning you can completely unsolder the two points after yellow light is on and it will still have flash recovery VS fixed limit kill for having J to C lower point after yellow. yellow 15 min kill does nothing, J to C lower after yellow 1500 fixed hours, including some advanced resolutions for power, do carefully and thoroughly take off any solder to J point in any case, i think missing gold is ok)(usa setting is important because those are 1500 pretty solid hours vs *** power standard, i thought they hate the usa?) i will find the canadian dsuckers who are responsible for sabotaging the wasabi.net.cn website and kick them squaw in the nuts. new hosting with actual schematics including clock point and obvious location of flash recovery point and so on so forth, mention of the risks is suggested. canadians are also responsible for deleting the fkn layout for the pdf, which is the reason why the pdf hasn't been released. if the chinese involved in the contract with the website tied into the production of the chip hired the canadians, then the chinese buying wasabi is void? took me 2 fkn seconds. :)

I recently got my wii modified and after i got it back i put in a original guitar hero 3 disk in, before i even got the chance to play, i got an error message and the disk won't read. I can't eject the disk. When i restart my wii and get back to the main menu it tells me to insert a disk when theres already one inside! I tried all the things listed here to get the disk out (other than take it apart) but it still doesn't work. I was wondering would part of the problem of it not ejecting be the fact that i got it modified?

I managed to eject a WII disc out manually very easily:
- Disconnect the drive
- You see the white plastic mechanism on your right side and the wheel connected to the motor
- turn the wheel towards the back side of the drive while pushing the half inch square plastic piece towards the left.
You will see the disc coming out while you are turning the wheel.

My console is having the same problem. I solved it but hitting the eject button. And while the console is making that buzz sound like it's trying to eject the game disc, I gentle insert another game disc as if I'm trying to load it. Some how the edge of the game disc gave the other disc inside a little nudge and the console was able to eject the game disc.

The is not a perfect solution because I no have trouble loading a game disc. Sometime the console would grab the game disc but only pull it in halfway. I have to give it a gentle nudge at just the right time to have the console accept the game disc. I think it's time for me to call Nintendo customer service.

My Wii fell and it still worked, but couldn't read the disk inside, and we couldn't get it out either, no sound at all from the cd mechanism. The store will exchange it for a new one, but I wanted my game back, as they are not really cheap. What I did to get the CD out: I opened the slot a little to be able to see the CD inside, then, on the side of the console buttons, I inserted a flat butter knife between in the underside of the CD just enough to lift it a little, then I slipped another CD (a blank CD will do just fine) in place of knife, and pushed it in almost all the way in, this seems to have released the game CD, and then I pulled the second CD out, and it dragged the game out. I guess that using tweezers would have worked as well to pull the CD out.
Hope this helps someone.

Had the Nintendo wii problem about the disk being stuck in the console. Rang nintendo service line for help, they were very helpful and would have had to send back to them. Read about disk being put into the DVD player, went to check the player and wouldn't you know it there it was! Spent over three hours trying to solve this problem, oh well but what a laugh. My daughter is now very careful about putting the disk into the wii.

I FIXED IT!!! I think.... I took a GameCube disk and tried to jam it in there. Not too aggresively but I was angry. Then for no apparent reason the disk popped out. Xmas is saved! I cleaned the disk and reinserted it. The kids are playing as I type. I am not going to try to eject it until the kids have some fun. Good Luck to all

The device that grabs the game is broken. I am sure there is a way to fix this but right now I am not sure, but this happened to me and my Wii and all I did was tip the Wii face down so that the opening was downward and I hit eject. When you want to load another game you are going to have to push the game in with another disk.

I have the same problem with my new Wii, loaded the sports CD and play's fine and when i went to load another game. no response from the eject button. so stuck with wii sport i thought until a replacement is in stock....

BUT... frustration wins the day.

i hit the eject button fast " and i mean fast for about 50 times " and hey presto the CD ejected!!!!

it seems that the command for eject is not getting to the system and by doing this it manages to see the command at some stage.

Wii still going back for a replacment but at least i can load other games.

hope this helps

Ok so I thought I had "A" disc stuck in the Wii console, so I hit eject while pushing in another disc and got the original one to slide out enough so I could grab it, then another one came out, then another one!!! No wonder it wasn't working! My kids shoved 3 discs in it. At least they are all out now.

The actual eject button on the Wii is floating over the micro switch. Push the button down hard and hold it down for about 1 or 2 seconds.

If you don't feel it "CLICK" it's not pushing the switch behind it.

Also, trying to eject it with the power connected but the console in 'off' mode seems to help sometimes too.

Hi all,

I had the same problem. And sometimes I continue to have that. (Meanwhile I have a d2c chip inside.)

In my case solution was to unplug machine before I go to sleep, and in the morning keep console horizontally (so that I use gravity in order to pull cd) and click on eject. I turn on machine with clicking on eject. If it fails, just unplug and plug again and re-try. I hope it works for you as well..

Our WII would not eject or read a disk but everything else worked. There was two mechanical blocks right at the inside of the entry and they would not go down to allow a disk to come out or one to go in. I took the WII apart and with the serial number side facing to your left as you are looking down on it, there is a small pulley with a rubber band the acts as a belt which had slipped off. I put it back on, plugged in the WII and it started to work perfectly. It ejected disks and accepts disks now. Hope this helps someone. By the way, I found the number 1 tri-wing bit that I needed at my local ACE Hardware in a 100 piece set for 12.99.

My son got two gamecube games stuck in his wii. usually if there is one gamecube game stuck in there a normal wii game inserted and ejected will get them both out. when he got two gamecube games stuck a butterknife poking around in there got them out.

I have managed to fix an error similar to this, but it may not work for everyone. My 5 year old stick 2 gamecube discs into her old sister's Wii. Neither of them would eject.

I removed the 4 scrws that attach the from cover so that I could see into the drive ... (this may void your warranty) i could see and hear the drive trying to eject. I could also see the discs not seated correctly.

I took a DVD i didn't care about and used it ot stimulate the load and eject function while using a small screw driver to press the eject button. These actions combined with mving the whole machine to different orrientations to help the discs move inside the machine, eventually resulted in first 1 disc being ejected and then the second one a moment later.

I tested the machine with a good game and it operated fine.

Good luck ... hope this helps.

Had the same problem. I was about to dis-assemble the unit when I heard something "loose" inside, Turned unit with opening facing down and a penny came out. If you have a 2year old check for foreign objects before you start taking things apart.

My darling daughters dropped our wii months ago. Something inside to do with the eject button must have gone astray. We couldn't get the current disk out (guitar hero) but could play that game, so for the last four months the only game we have been able to play is guitar hero. Being school holidays I was fed up with it not working so I have just spent the last hour determined to work out what the problem was.
The eject button wasn't working at all so after much picking and probing I was able to remove the eject button, then press a bobby pin inside the little hole where the eject button was and TADAAAAA the guitar hero disk ejected and we can now play other games!!!!!!! YEAHHHHHH so looking forward to playing them over the weekend.

HI,

As far as eject the disc, you will have to take apart the console.

There is an excellent step by step dissassemby guide that I strongly urge you to take a look at, while taking it apart.

Go to the link below:

I had this problem with my Wii and it was outside warranty, i contacted Nintedo and they asked me to send it back (they sent a prepay label) I did and they'repaired it' got it back (no cost and no paperwork) still didn't work, when I complained they asked me to send it back again I did and they sent me a new Wii!! I think they have a problem so talk to them if you have this problem. We never dropped ours, chipped it or used dodgy discs.

When you hear hoofbeats - think horses not zebras!

An eyeglass screw driver, when inserted into the Wii with a slight lift under the disk will free up the CD. My 2 year-old ensured that I master this method. On occassion a tweezers will help pull it forward until you can get your fingers on it. As long as you stay on the edge and lift lightly, the disk comes right out.

P.S. The Wii can fit 5 discs comfortably.

Well, I thought my 2 year old old son had put 3 games into my daughter's console at once but when I got them out there was actually four. What I did was get another game and wedge it between the middle of the games stuck in console, I then pushed it as far as it would go still holding on to it then yanking it out quickly (and said a prayer). One by one the all came out. I wish that I had done this in the beginning instead of trying to use tweezers but anyway, only one was scratched by this. All the best.

Not everyone will have the equipment, but as a nurse, I happened to have a set of small hemistats handy, you can reach directly into the console and if you can get a hold of the disc it will come out with a little tug. Just an idea.....

I had this problem, and opened my wii and on the right side (front side against me) ontop of the dvd-drive there is a white wheel. I turned this clockwise with a phillips screwdriver and voila, out came the stuck game :)

Okay, I just finished resolving my disk not ejecting issue. It had nothing to do with pressing the reset or eject button repeatidly. The problem was the thin 4 wire disk sensor ribbon cable was not fully seated to the drive. After I connected it fully, both Wii and GameCube disks insert and eject with no problems. I would say, check all you connections before contacting Nintendo.

A good way to get it out, keep pushing the eject button for about 30 seconds. then put it down for about 5 or 10 minutes on its ront so gravity pulls it down a little. Then take it press eject and shake it up and down so it falls out. Hope this helps . : )

If you have a cd in the console then open op the console and open the cd tray and remove the cd and close the conesole up. send it for repair or w.e u want to do with it.

if you wanna try to fix it. and the tray wont open either 1 the tray is broken or a clog is broken or the tray is off track.

if the tray is off try then open it up and put it back on track, plug the power supply in and hit the power botton see if it opens then close it up if it does open and close.

worse comes to worse, go to google or ebay buy a new disc tray or dvd drive to the console and install it and it will correct the issue becuase it will be a all new drive. make sure you get the correct model drive/laser/tray. w.e u buy

If you need to replace the DVD ROM, I made a video showing how I troubleshot a disk read error, took it apart, cleaned laser lens, and ended up having to replace the DVD ROM. Got a refurbished drive for $18 off eBay.

Get twizzers and cut a ruber band in half, make sure the rubber band is on both sides of the twizzers then slowly pull the disc out the rubber band is so the twizzers don't scratcht the disc. i have used this method before to get 2 disc stuck in the wii console by my little cousin and it has also worked for a women i sugested to from her daughter her is the link to see her reponse but remeber the rubber band must cover bother sides of the twizzers she may have forgotten that part. http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090520090114AA76IBt

In a week, 2 wii games got stuck but manage to get them out.......

my solution.....1. eject button press as many time as you want quickly as possible....if nothing happens.....2. turn off the wii console unplug it and wait for an hour or so...3.then turn it back on and again to step 1 and pray it the disk comes out....

personal note: i think this problem is connected to modded wii console....so every time i want to play a game i usually put an original disk first....play it for a few minutes then change to play a backup disk....no more disk jamming in the wii....for now.....

cheer........

So when you take the face plate off hook everything back up. You'll notice once you get a game in, be careful because you have to push it in, that two tabs come up to block you from putting other discs in. There is a little plastic thing that hooks in on those metal tabs, it's hard to tell they are there. I noticed on mine that the left one looked like a U instead of being filled. The plastic thing had been knocked out of its spot. So I got the disc out and was pulling out a bit on the black plastic part where the disc goes in I noticed those metal tabs dropped a little lower. Sure enough that little plastic piece was under the left tab thing keeping it from lowering all the way and stopping the load/eject process. So if the tabs that block you from inserting discs look like U's instead of looking like a U with a T in it you know you have something blocking them from lowering all the way.

Our Wii has been broken for about 12 months, the cd wouldn't eject but you could hear the motor trying to eject the cd. I have the 2 year old that stuck too many cd's into the console problem, anyway today my son asked if he could play it being school holidays and all. I was determined to fix this problem once and for all, I came across this website and tryed the button pushing a thousand times with the console face side down and it didn't work I was about to pull it apart when I thought I would try the suggestion of putting another cd in the console after pushing the eject button and to my surprise it actually worked!!! I pushed the cd in about 3 quarters of the way in then pulled it back out and 1 of the cd that was in there followed and then another, I then pushed the eject button and yet another cd was in it. My 2 year old had put 3 cd's in the wii at once. But all ends well it is working fine now. Thank-you to those who suggested this I thought I would have to buy a new one.

Many thanks to all the advice. I used a mix of all methods and the disc did eject by inserting another disc at the same time to activate the release mechanism. In my case a disc half the width and twice the thickness of a Wii game was inserted and it took an hour to dig into the plastic with one half of a tweezers to move it to the edge, then the front of the machine. Well worth the time as Wii support way backlogged via phone and none of the local stores will touch this thing because of warranty issues. This problem can be fixed on your own with a lot of patience. Just DON'T lodge anything under the disk as you risk damaging the lazer.

I did it! Same problem as all of you.
I tried to force another disk into wii, turn off and on a thousand times...

I put it upside down, give a little hit and turned on. It starts to spin the disk and ejected OK!

Just pull it out with some tweezers
that's how my friend got it out.

Hi!

  1. Disconnect the drive.
  2. Open up the screws.
  3. You will now be able to see the white plastic mechanism on your right side and the wheel connected to the motor.
  4. Turn the wheel towards the back side of the drive while pushing the half inch square plastic piece towards the left.
  5. You will see the disc coming out while you are turning the wheel.
Please ask for further clarifications.

Please rate this solution as FixYa if found useful.

Thanks
Rylee

Turn the system off first, unplug the cord. Wait about 5 minutes. Then try. if it happens again take pen and stick in the disc drive, press the eject button and it will eject the disc. It might mess the wii up but it is worth it to get your game disc out.

Your wii might have a problem with the ejecting system or the disk is stuck, u can either send it to nintendo to fix it if its under warranty , or go to a repair shop

You just might have to take the Wii apart and get your disc. Your eject button may be bad and they are pretty cheap to replace.

If the above two answers did not help you, you may have the same problem as my dad. My mom dropped the Wii and now it will not eject, thus it ended up at my house. I noticed that the corner of the Wii with the eject button was the location of impact. i opened the Wii to find that the eject switch on the circuit board (the actual electronic micro switch the plastic eject button presses) was completely knocked off. It is a surface mount item and I was able to solder it back in place. Now it is as good as new. Hope this helps.

Try all of these steps:
1. Turn the Wii off and on again after about 20 seconds. Press the eject button again. If no help:
2. Unplug the Wii's AC power supply if Step 1 doesn't work. Wait 1 to 2 minutes, and trying to eject the disc again after turning the Wii back on. If no help: 3. Hold down the eject button for 5 to 10 seconds. Still not: 4. Try ejecting the disc with the Wii at different angles. If you hold the Wii upside down, it may help the disc fall out. if no help: 5. See if power light was coming on and do the AC adapter reset. unplug from both ends for 90 seconds.Hold eject button for 5-10 seconds Finally: Call Nintendo 1-800-255-3700 and send the Wii back if non of these steps work. In most cases, a disc stuck in the Wii should be covered by warranty. Good Luck

Well, Recently the same thing happened to me, My bro dropped my WII on the floor and the eject button on it got stuck i was soo mad!!!
I tried loads of ways nothing really hard, just follow this and hope fully the WII will eject:

1.Make sure the WII is stood up properly.
2.Then switch on the WII (As i said early the WII won't eject the CD.
3.Now look near the eject button if it is stuck follow (A) or if not coming out follow (B).
(A1).Right if it is stuck and not coming out then the top bendy bit of the eject button put your nail through it and press it down it should eject but after a while it did not work any more for me :(.
(A2).Now, Disconnect all the Cable's in the WII not TV leave it for a while (and don't smash it again!), After a while approx 5 Min's plug 'em back in, switch on the WII then press eject hopefully that will work :D.
(B1).Now if it does not come out either look inside the drive or WII (I don't suggest that) or just do what i did with A2 hopefully that will work.

Hope your WII works by now and enjoy ejecting cd's from your WII but 1 more thing before you go (DON'T BREAK YOUR WII AGAIN OR YOU WILL HAVE TO DO THIS ALL OVER AGAIN :P AND IT MIGHT NOT EVEN WORK IF SMASH IT TO MANY TIMES!!! SO BE-CAREFUL!!!!

Unfortunately the Wii does not have an easily accessible manual disc eject button. You can check the article at this website=>

http://www.informit.com/articles/article.aspx?p=677908

If you feel up to it you can try to follow the instructions. It will of course void your warranty. The only other option is to take the Wii to your local Nintendo repair depot and have them do it for you.

Hi,
Only way is to dismantle the wii then eject the disk as it will be voiding the warranty.
Check for the pin hole behind the fron bazel and if the model does not have then dismantling is as described

Hiding screws under stickers and rubber pads is a common method used by electronics manufactures to help increase the aesthetics of their devices, as well as prevent people from easily locating screws and taking apart their products.
  1. Unscrew the two Triwing screws and three Phillips screws from the bottom of the Wii.

There shoud be a small hole on the drive itself. You can try and insert a paperclip opened up to force the eject.

Hi..
Step 1: Open the case panel with a screwdriver.
Step 2: Remove the CD-Drive by unscrewing it from the tray (you may need to disconnect the power from the back - just make sure you make sure you put them back in in the same way when you're done!)
Step 3: Turn the CD-Drive upside-down and locate the four screws in the far corners (which most likely hold the top cover on) or locate the screws which hold the top cover on.
Step 4: Unscrew the screws and remove the top cover, gently and slowly! You should have free access to the disk inside.

Once done, put everything back together. :)
try this out..
thank u..

To eject a WII disc out manually very easily:
- Disconnect the drive
- You see the white plastic mechanism on your right side and the wheel connected to the motor
- turn the wheel towards the back side of the drive while pushing the half inch square plastic piece towards the left.
You will see the disc coming out while you are turning the wheel.

If it is still under warranty use the link provided

Nintendo Support

Fill out their form and be very descriptive when asked and they will repair it.

Alternatively you may choose to open the case and examine the damage - This is unadvisable as you warranty will be void and you could further damage the console

Hi,

Is your eject button broken? Does it click when you punch it, or goes in like the button on the board is broken?

It is either this or there is something jammed inside your system.

Video: How to open Wii Console

Check inside your drive and remove anything stuck in there causing the drive to not function correctly when ejecting.

Hope I helped!

Take care

If you take the front cover off, it should have an emergency eject hole that you can stick a paper clip into.  Other than that, you might need to take the disk drive out and take the cover of it off.

Hi,
I've had the same problem on many consoles. You need to dismantle unit to get at disk drive. Is quite a delicate procedure. If you want me to have a look at it for you let me know. No fix, no fee, returned free of charge.

Maybe because the eject button is off the micro switch and you need to either press it hard or get a wii professional to take off the eject button and replace it to where it will touch the micro switch.

Try tilting the wii at several angles. The disc may come out. If not try hitting the eject button at several angles.
If all the above fails, this(although risky) may work.
1. find another disk.
2. slide into slot, just enough to get under the cd(NOT ALL THE WAY IN)
3. lift or puch down on the disk depending on the side the new disk is on
4. hit eject while lifting or puching.
5. If this does not work the system may need to be sent out

Get a technician to look at it or take the wii apart yourself if you're brave enough to see if anything is jammed. nintendo may fix it if its a fault in a mechanism but otherwise you'll need to see a seperate technician

I looked it up at the troublshooting center on Nintendo.com, I found this: If a game freezes while playing, usually the power, reset, and eject buttons will not respond. Try unplugging the AC Adapter from the back of the console, then check the air vents to make sure they're not being blocked. If that does not help, it looks like you may have a problem with the wii itself. You should contact Nintendo customer support about how to get it repaired. You can call them at 1-800-255-3700. Hope it fixes it for you! Good luck! :)

My wii wont except disks, it will eject it, but not take it!

When you remove the drive there is a small circuit board on top of the drive near the loading tray that is connected with a small ribbon cable. This is the photocell sensor board that detects your disks and engages the motor to take the disks in. It could be out of alignment with the photocell emitters or loose connection with the ribbon cable. However I think this will only effect the intake of the disk into the tray and not have any effect on ejecting the disks. Have you checked the 'n-fuse'?

Eject button does not eject the disk. How can I

You just might have to take the Wii apart and get your disc. Your eject button may be bad and they are pretty cheap to replace.

At first it would not eject a disk now it will not

Drive is bad if its not drawing the cd in. Check to make sure you don't already have a disc in there just to be sure. If you do push the eject button to get it out of there. If you don't have a disc in there then you know the drive is bad and needs to be replaced.

Cant get my disk out of the wii

Sounds like the mechanism inside of the drive is bent out of shape or needs to be reseated properly so it can accept and eject disks out. This is going to require opening up the Nintendo Wii and getting the drive out of there.

Here is what the inside of the wii drive looks like:
https://www.vgcrepairs.biz/zen_store/images/Wii_dd_btm.jpg

It could be that the plasic piece that holds the discs in place just needs to be moved back into the center position.

Heres a guide to taking apart the Wii:

Hope this info helps.

I can't my Disc to eject from my Wii Console. Does anyone have a solution to this problem, other than taking it in for service?

Good Luck

ok there is a safe way which requires opening top case try not to turn wii to much while taken off the top case this will keep your cd's from getting scratched
the cd's have lodged ontop the back plate
the other way
turn side ways you should be able to shake machine youll here the cd's slide onto each other lay flat and both cd's should slide out on tray
this will definatley scratch your cd's but it does work and its a form of the shuffle

Wii console

Im not familiar with the Wii but i will try to help.

Is it just not opening or is it actually physically Jamed?

If its jamed, try turning it upside down and then back to right side up, then try ejecting it.

There may be a pin hole on the front of the drive, just like a computer cd drive, get a thick paper clip and insert it, push hard till the drive pops slightly open, then pull it the rest of the way and remove the disk.

Last resort is to open her up and remove the disk drive altogether and then take apart the case, then you can use your finger to move the disk back onto the carasel and then eject it once its plugged back in.
