My son hit the TV screen NS-39D400NA14 couple of times. First it got a vertical line and then next day the line became thicker. After that one more line appeared same day and then half display became black and with the half black and white. And within an hour screen turned black with sound on. I unplugged the power supply and plugged it back the logo of insignia appears and then screen goes black all the way. Can you please guide me is it T-con problem or power board problem . Thank you. If your TV is less then a year old, still under manufacturers warranty. If not under warranty the defective parts could be the power supply or the back light inverter board. Both boards can be replace easily.
The way to know if you have a defective backlight inverter is by shinning a light from a flash light near the screen with the TV on and check in a 45 degrees angle if you have a dark video in the background, if the video is present then you have a backlight board failure. If no video, then is a power supply failure.
I have both boards if you want to buy them.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

the vertical blue lines indicate some interference from other electronic gadgets near your tv. it started showing up on my sony grand wega when i installed my wireless modem. i almost ordered a new rear projection lamp costing over $100 but decided to experiment. i first moved my desk computer farther away from the tv then isolated the wireless modem router by placing it inside a small glass - the vertical blue lines became lighter in color so i dedided to find another small glass that fit inside the first glass container then put the router in the double glass - no more blue lines and my wireless modem router still works.
do some deductive thinking to figure out what's messing up your tv and isolate the interference.
good luck!

This television, appears to have had a failure in the mainboard. This is the board that controls the video functions and sound functions. The unit should be taken or sent in to a service center for testing and servicing. The service center will have all the correct service information to determine the problem for you. You can call Insignia customer support at this telephone number 1-877-467-4289. You can also got to the customer support website at www.insignia-products.com. It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.

One of your "X" buffer boards is defective. In Panasonic plasma tv's they are located at the bootom of the set and connect directly to the plasma diplay panel via a thin ribbon cable. The board you want to replace will be directly in line with the discolored vertival line in the picture. The part number is on the circuit board and usualy starts with "tnp..." or "txp..."
