My iphone is in recovery, only showing the apple logo and wont go any further. i plugged it into my pc and it is not even showing up.

Open itunes. with your phone off hold home button and plug phone into computer and hold until itunes sees the phone. You can restore then. The phone will be in dfu mode. If that doesn't do it connect the phone hold home and power for 6 secs. then release the power button while holding the home until itunes sees phone. Restore and use your phone again...
