SOURCE: Dropped camera. lens open and crooked
Sorry to say you have broken the lens, replacement of the lens is the only practical repair and if you cant swap one yourself from a dead camera it would be beyond economical repair.
If you are adventurous you could buy a faulty one of ebay and swap the lens or if the faulty one has a broken screen or mode dial swap yours over to the faulty one..
there are a couple of "tricks" do getting this camera open drop me a line if you decide to proceed...
best of luck

Hey latyrant,
If the lens visibly looks crooked then the lens is probably broken and needs to be repaired by an authorized service technician. One thing you could try is placing the camera on a flat surface with the lens pointed up and holding the shutter button in, while doing this turn the camera on. Sometimes this will force the camera to try and focus before the camera can register the lens problem and sometimes it will force the lens back into alignment. If this doesn't work you could bring it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store and they could send it out to get looked at by a technician. I will say that the cost of digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the product. I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
Allan

You have impact damage, the gears in the lens are out of alignment.

he is a friend of mine who can fix this for you.

There's no easy DIY fix for this unless you can clearly see what's broken and how to fix it. But the shock of the fall has either dislodged the internal gears or bent/broken one or more internal pins.
The lens will need professional repair; if at the same time it's given a full CLA service (Clean, Lubricate, Adjust) then it will be money well spent as it's still far cheaper than a new replacement lens.

not worth the effort - these are very complicated internal workings and even if you managed to disassemble the glass it would be difficult to know what is damaged without a 1:1 drawing of the internals of that specific piece of glass - plus you do not have a clean room - not trying to comment on your housekeeping but a dedicated clean room with a laminar flow work bench to keep out the FM you would add just by opening up said glass in a normal room - Pay the money if you love the glass - if not they make interesting and fun paperweights...
