How can I block a caller - Cell Phones

Check with the caller to see if they have "blocked" delivery of their caller id information. If the caller has blocked it, the phone cannot see it: some phones log this as "CID info missing" or similar verbage, others simply ignore the event. Good luck!

Caller ID
If you subscribe to caller ID service, information about each caller appears after the first or second ring. If you answer a call before the caller information appears on the screen, it will not be saved in the caller ID log. The caller ID log stores up to 50 entries. Each entry has up to 24 digits for the phone number and 15 characters for the name. If the telephone number has more that 15 digits, only the last 15 digits appear. If the name has more than 15 characters, only the first 15 characters are shown and saved in the caller ID log. Review a caller ID log entry Press CID when the phone is not in use. Scroll to browse through the caller ID log. When the desired entry appears: Press repeatedly to show different dialing options. Press 1 repeatedly if you need to add or remove 1 in front of the phone number. Press or to dial the displayed number. Call block
If you subscribe to caller ID service, you can set the telephone to block unknown calls and certain undesired calls. The call block list stores up to 20 entries. Block unknown calls Press MENU when the phone is not in use. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. Scroll to Calls w/o num, and then press SELECT. Scroll to choose Not block or Block, and then press SELECT. Add a call block list entry 1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use. 2. Scroll to Call block, and then press SELECT. 3. Scroll to Block list, and then press SELECT. 4. Scroll to Add new entry, and then press SELECT. 5. Enter the number. • Use the dialing keys to enter the number (up to 30 digits). 6. There is no option on this phone to restrict the caller ID.

If the number is XXXXXX up as 'Restricted' then it can only happen if you dial *67 at the beginning of the number you want to call to block you caller ID information. Or, you can also call Verizon and have caller ID blocked for every number.

If this is happening for every number, then you will need to call Verizon and have them deactivate the caller ID restriction.

Only if you have that future, if not call your local provider and ask for call blocking.

you should be able to block callers in your settings menu or in your phone book

1. Just dial *67 before the phone number on your cell phone. This code is the universal command to deactivate caller ID.
   
   For example, placing a blocked call would look like*67 555 555 5555 (without the spaces). On the receiving end, caller ID will usually display "private number" because it has been blocked.
   
   Though you won't hear or see a confirmation of a successful caller ID block, it will work.

In some instances the caller might have caller-id blocked or a *67 manaul caller id block.

You are correct if you have a duplicate contact entry it does not show the name of the caller incoming.

With this model of phone you cannot block calls from a particular number but you can restrict incoming calls that are not listed your address book. So effectively you can block a caller but you will be blocking all callers that are not in your address book. Having said that, there are other phone models in the market that can block a particular caller by listing the number in a black list.
