Would like information on Hisense dehumidifier serial number: KH5Y9JF 0064?

Cannot find my manual; would like to find the filter, looked everywhere and cannot find it. Clean filter is lite up on the panel and so is pump. Dehumidifier is freezing up and felt that if I clean the filter it may correct the problem.

SOURCE: GE AHH40LH DEHUMIDIFIER

Either the humidistat is bad and not letting the unit cycle off, there isn't enough humidity in the air, or the condensor coils are too dirty.

SOURCE: Ice on dehumidifier

A dehumidifier works by cooling the metal pipes on the back of the unit to create condensation (water vapor in the air). This then drips into the collector bucket. If the unit runs too long the cooling tubes can get too cold and freeze the condesing water vapor. Unplug the dehumidifier and let the ice melt, when u turn it back on, turn it down, it may be up too high. If you find this solution helpful please rate it.

SOURCE: kenmore dehumidifier runs but won't collect water

Hi,
If you haven't done so already, try removing and cleaning the inlet filter screen which is almost certainly just behing the inlet grille. It may slide upwards out of the casing or downwards unto the bucket area. If this is blocked with fluff then no moist air will get to the cold pipes, so little or no water will be extracted. There's also a chance that the humidity sensor is clogged with fluff, so fooling the system into thinking the room is pretty dry, in which case the compressor will probably not run.
A running compressor can usually be detected as a deep throbbing from the machine. If it is running, but not cooling the pipes behind the intake grille, then you may have lost the refrigerant from the system via a leak. If the air coming out of the machine is warm (caused by the compressor running) but there is no water produced this may be the cause.

Explore along these lines and let me know what you find.
Cheers, D

SOURCE: Help for old kenmore dehumidifier

Hello Sandy,
On mine, the filter is in the front. Behind the grill. To remove it, you have to remove the bucket first. Then you can see two tabs sticking down that say "Filter Front". You can reach your fingers up & behind it, grab the lip, and pull straight down. For me it requires more force than expected. With the filter out, put the bucket back in and turn it on. Make sure that there is air blowing out the back to verify that the fan still works. I hope this helps.

Is there a recall on Frigidaire dehumidifier Model FAD504DUD

Some dehumidifiers with the model number, FAD504DUD, are subject to a recall. Record the serial number and then go to https://www.recallrtr.com/dehumidifier to check if your unit was manufactured in the bad batch.

Without the serial number, I can't be sure if your unit is in the 2016 recall. For details, you can look at https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/Dehumidifiers-Made-by-Midea-Recalled .

I hope this helps.
