Washing machines these days are as much computer as an electro-mechanical device and as such contain sensitive cmos electronics that are easily damaged by voltage surges or spikes.

It is usual to protect the laptop and desktop computers with surge-protectors but it isn't generally recognised that most computerised appliances need similar protection - radios, tv sets, top boxes, washers and even the modern fridge...

A surge protector won't protect against every surge but every little helps and when a household has most things protected it produces a sort of increased herd immunity.

I suggest you call an engineer to your washer and if the repair is going to be expensive try claiming the cost from the power company.

SOURCE: Bosch maxx 7 condenser dryer not working after power surge

Most likely, the surge blew the internal fuse. I would try replacing that first. If you can't do it personally, have a certified tech do it for you.

How can I reset my Bosch series 3 dishwasher.

The specific steps to reset a Bosch Series 3 dishwasher can vary depending on the model, but here is a general method that may work:
  1. Turn off the dishwasher by pressing the Power button or unplugging it from the power source.
  2. Wait for at least 30 seconds to allow the dishwasher to fully power down.
  3. Press and hold the Start button for about 5 seconds.
  4. While still holding the Start button, turn the dishwasher back on.
  5. Release the Start button when you see the display or indicator lights change, which may take a few seconds.
  6. Press the Start button again to initiate a new cycle, and the dishwasher should now be reset.
If this method does not work for your specific Bosch Series 3 dishwasher model, you can try consulting the dishwasher's user manual for specific reset instruction

How do i operate a basic bosch dishwasher

On many Bosch dishwshers (especially those with the controls on top), they expect your to press the appropriate cycle and option(s) buttons, and then press the Start key, ALL WITH THE DOOR OPEN. Immediately after pressing the START button, close the door (within 3 seconds), and the dishwasher should start.

On other Bosch dishwashers, if you open the door, the poser button is automatically turned off. On those models, you must close the door, turn the Power button ON, and THEN press the appropriate cycle & options buttons. If your dishwasher has a START button, then press it; otherwise just wait 10 second with the door closed.

See? There is no such thing as a "basic bosch dishwasher". Next time, if you have a question, please provide the model number of your dishwasher (or other appliance).

My Bosch Dishwasher 6800 is not rinsing...after HOURS of running, sometimes the bottom of the washer is filled with suds. I use very little detergent and still have trouble.

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is a Bosch dishwasher, however if you could post the complete model number (6800 is incomplete) I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing.

The one possible problem could be your door switch in the latch assy, hence it present's an error code.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Dear Sirs, I have a client with a Bosch dishwasher that is leaving a film on all of the dishes. the water valve is working and the drain pump is working. Apparently this has just started. Any ideas?...

Hello

Welcome to FixYa.

Can you provide a model number of your Bosch dishwasher ?

Depending on the model ( i.e. SHU, SHV, SHE, SHX followed by several caricatures etc. ) it can be several possibilities so I`ll hold off generalizing and instead try and speak specific about your model.

Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I saw my repair man do the following, which you might try...
Open the door and simultaneously press & hold down the power button with the 2 buttons used on your model to "Cancel & Drain." If the unit comes on it now is in self-diagnosis mode. Release the buttons and close the door. The unit should start to fill with water. Press the power button to exit the mode.
