Hmm.... could be a couple different things but the door latch may be one. Could be a power failure with a control board or the power outlet itself. Samsung appliances are hard to repair and most repair techs ran away from them.

SOURCE: Maytag Electric Dryer Stopped Working

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.

To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

SOURCE: Dark grease stains on the cloths after drying

Most likely a bearing failure, a seal that retains grease has given up and is spewing into the drum through a shaft opening of some kind.

If you are positive there is no grease in some of the clothes, or someone is putting it in the drum, then a seal has failed, and now that the grease is coming out, the bearing it is was supposed to lubricate is now low, and will fail prematurely, you need a service call and soon.

SOURCE: My whirlpool duet dryer is taking 3 cycles to dry????

have you checked your lint trap to make sure that it is clean after every load? Also the lint vent to the outside may be clogged and will not let the dryer vent like it should. This is dangerous. So check and replace if needed.

SOURCE: THE DRYER TAKES TWO TO THREE HOURS TO DRY ONE LOAD

I had the same problem. It was the vent from the dryer to the outside of the house. An easy way to tell if this is a problem is to disconnect the vent from the dryer and dry a load of clothes. If it drys in normal time, nothing is wrong with the dryer; you have to get your vent cleaned. I tell you this because we took the whole dryer apart and tested all the other possible problems before we tried this. I wish we had tried this first.

Samsung dryer won' shut off dv520aep/xaa

If it's in the timed cycle, the timer motor is probably bad, preventing the timer from advancing through the cycle.

If it's in the auto dry cycle, the moisture sensor could be bad, so the dryer thinks the load is still wet.

Maytag dryer 2003 was working great I took one dried load out put another in and started the dryer. Working just fine then I found a wet garment that I dropped so I opened dryer door added this item...

When your dryer won't start, it could be a number of problems from a broken door latch or start switch to an exhaust duct blocked by lint. It could even be a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.

The first step in troubleshooting any electrical appliance is to ensure that it is plugged in and receiving power. While dryer plugs do not come loose easily, it can happen.

For more troubleshooting tips, read Dryer won't start for possible causes, signs to look for and things you can do. I hope this helps!
