My Sony Bravia is an older model. Turns on for a few seconds then goes to stand by red flashing light. have tried all suggested plug in issues. Flashes 13 times then pauses and flashes 13 times...

LED flashes of 8 times are indicative of a "High Voltage Error" which means something along the lines of "T8005 is faulty. (D board)" according to the service manual. It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.

Hello,
the error light sequence that you are seeing is indicating a "backlight error". Most likely you have a bad inverter board -the board that powers up the back-lights behind the display panel. They might be available via ebay if you are a DIYer, or you need to call for sony service.

Google the model number of the set(not indicated here) for "error codes" or 10 blinks---Also look on the Sony site for this information--you can call them with the model number also.

try unplugging your t.v for a few minutes, then plug it back in. if it continues check your owners manual or google your issue. this might be the red flash of death. hopefully unplugging it works. good luck!
