SOURCE: I have a ten year old Proton Clock Radio RS-330,

The display itself may not be the problem which may be related to the power supply for it instead. Some technical skills and a decent multimeter is the minimum you should have to determine the source of the problem.

If you are looking for a local service company, you should always post your ZIP code so a tech in your area is likely to respond.

SOURCE: Lost my 'off' ' button on my Proton 320 clock

No need to worry, you can buy adjustable knobs and at radioshack and ebay. However if the button broke off you need to go in and replace it.

SOURCE: My Proton 320 radio has stopped working, although

Unfortunately, Proton discontinued these a very long time ago. There is not very much information available about them. The cause for the radio malfunction could be a number of things. One possibility is the switches. There is a foam gasket around the switches that degrades over time. If pieces of it get stuck inside the on switch, or lock the off switch, it would prevent the radio from working. You could try taking it apart and use a can of compressed air to clean out the switches. I had a problem with the radio turning on all by itself and the compressed air cleaning solved it.

when you set the alarm it is activating by itself ...see that you have the button that will set it to go to radio or buzzing noise..and in the back it has a knob for a separate volume on the alarm I think this is what you have lower and the alarm is not heard even if it kicks in ..
let me know if that is the issue or I should see further ..

My Proton 320 radio has stopped working, although the clock function still works. Is this a simple fix? Where could I find a manual?

I have a 25 y. Proton 300 radio, which until recently has been flawless. It now reverberates and seems to have "ghost" sounds, even when sharply tuned. What's wrong????can it be fixed???where could I...

It sounds like the tuner is out of alignment. A number of things can cause this kind of problem. However, a realignment is a very costly proposition, especially when considering the used value of the Proton 320. If you really like this radio, you might want to try buying a used example off of eBay. They come up very frequently. Only... be selective. Don't pick anything from a seller without a lot of good feedback. And don't overpay ($50 tops).

The FM tuner picks up only a few stations and those are very faint. Two other Proton model 320 radios work fine in the same area. I live on Long Island where the reception is rather strong.

The tuning module within the radio is getween the base circuit card and the display. A shot of tuner cleaner into one of the ports will usually bring back the FM performace (I just got done diong my own). Also, it goes without saying that you need to make sure your radio still has its antenna wire and that the vacuum didn't eat it. If this is beyond your skill level, find a computer geek (there are few radio geeks any more). Commercial repair would cost more than the value of the radio.

Tuning lamp on Proton 320 clock radio

The bulb is a small electronics bulb on the left side of the lexan display cover and it is covered with an insulated foil tape. Measure the voltage on the bulb with a voltmeter and go buy a replacement from any electronics supply place or radio shack.
