My whirlpool 6th sense catches my clothes at the bottom and is ripping small holes in all my clothes. They seem to be getting caught in the spool at the bottom and being twisted around until they rip.

SOURCE: GE top load Washer ripping clothes

Solution!
GE has replaced the "boot" (the large rubber gasket at the opening of the washer) on my washer. This has fixed the problem!

Although the majority of people I spoke with at GE did not know about this, eventually I got a repair technician out here who spoke with one of the engineers. The engineer said that there was a problem with the boot causing clothing to rip. The new boot we have on our washer covers a ring of plastic just on the outside of the metal drum (the plastic rim remains stationary while the metal drum spins - this is the cause of the ripped clothing) - the old boot left this plastic ring exposed. Our washer was only 8 months old - so even if your washer is new, if your clothing is being ripped, insist that the boot be replaced for an updated version.

Good luck!

SOURCE: My Whirlpool Duet front loader is ripping my

My washer ruined 2 king sheets 3 shirts and brand new jogging suit, so I know what you mean! The rubber gasket ...it had 2 metal bands..one on the inside which is a wide one and a small thin one on the outside of the gasket. You really can't see the wide one unless it has started to slipped off or break. or by taking the ting one off,..my wide band came loose which caused the screw to be exposed just enough for something to catch on it, tearing the material, it kept wrapping around and around untili eventually the band came completely off. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: I am having a problem with my Ge dryer catching my

HHHMMMMMmmmm...seems like if it is an older dryer, the drum support rollers may be worn out. This can and will cause the drum to rub against the front of the dryer and snag the laundry inside.
To fix this, the dryer must be disconnected from the power source and the back panel removed. Before going any further, manually push and pull the drum to and from the front of the dryer and see if there's slack in the rollers. You'll probably need a helper for this.
If there's slack, remove the belt then the drum, and replace ALL the rollers at one time. There should only be 2 or 3 depending on the machine, they're not expensive nor are they difficult to replace once you're inside the machine this far. But do them ALL and you won't have to do this again more than likely.
After you reassemble everything and before you reconnect the power, see that the dryer is level. You can adjust this by turning the "feet" under the front of the dryer. This will prevent laundry from "migrating" to the front of the dryer and wearing out the rollers again.

I can't sew without breaking the thread from the spool

1.I can't tell from the picture whether you have a spool holder on top of your machine. If you have an upright post, you need to make sure that the spool spins freely and isn't getting caught on the top or bottom of the spool.
2.If there is a bad spot on the tip of your needle it can break the thread.
3.Also since this is an older machine, there may be small nick in the wire from the tension. You can buy a new wire for it or take a small piece of sandpaper and smooth it out.
4.The most common problem is that you or someone else has broken a needle and that the small hole in the cover plate, where the needle goes down to pick up the bobbin thread, has nicks all around it and is catching the thread and tearing it. Take your plate off your machine and go to the hardware store (or online) and buy some emery chord. Thread the cord through the hole and run it back and forth until the nicks are smooth.

Trimmer wrapped around shaft

Deborah there should be a little hole just towards the bottom of the spool head where you could fit a small metal rod in. If you can locate it push something small in like a 2 inch nail and turn the spool head slowly by hand until it locks up. The head should then undo . It will undo anti clockwise.

There could be several reasons:-
Incorrect use of chlorine bleach

Degradation of material

Some sharp foreign object caught in holes in the drum and ripping clothing - feel all around the inside of the drum for sharp objects.
