Polk Audio PSW50 Subwoofer Logo

No sound comes out of the subwoofer. Sound passes through and the power light is on, but no subwoofer sound. Any ideas? Fuse? Easy fix? Can this subwoofer be replaced? is it still available? Can I buy a new one?

This may be a dumb question but have you turned up the signal. there should be a dial on the back that you can turn the power up. power light on, signal passing threw, the only other thing it can be is the built in amp itself may be dead.

There is a Polk Audio Forum here http://forum.polkaudio.com/
Probably a better source of info on your specific speaker. I have a PSW200 which may or may not be similar. Your power light is on, so probably not a fuse. Try turning all of the controls on the back--there is a small chance the pots may be corroded. If the amp is dead the best bet may be to replace the plate amp (see Parts Express or ApexJr for example) or just buy a new sub.

Why am i getting sound out of my subwoofers but no bass

Check your strings on your amp they have low pass and high pass filters do some research online on those i cant remember which one it is i think its the low pass that only let low frequency sounds come out of the subwoofer i think mine is set at 110 to 120. Or you could try head unit settings

I had the same problem. It ended up being a short in one of the wires in the control board. It was actually pretty easy to fix once I located all the screws to take apart the speaker where the board is housed...

Klipsch ksw subwoofer wont power on

The power supply switching transistors are likely fried. Dangerous high voltages involved. I would remove the plate and send it to Klipsch for repair.

No sound

Willing to bet you've blown the amp, or fused the coil. I've had it happen twice, apparently when running off a power source that apparently couldn't handle the load. Hope it's under warranty - if so Loud Technologies (deals with all Mackies warranty stuff) should be able to replace the unit. Otherwise, you'll need to take it in to a service department and have it checked out.

Good luck, you'll have to arm wrestle with them to get them to replace it.

Has light but no sound

The first thing to always check first is the fuse. This will probably involve some disassembly but it is alwayst the cheapest fix and a constant issue.
