SOURCE: system refuses to accept valid expiration dates beyond 2011
If you haven't solved this already... it sounds like a slightly older version of PCCharge. Go to Setup -> Configure System. You should see a box that says something along the lines of "Last Valid Year" Set that to something like 19. This will set the program to accept cards with an expiration date of up to 2019.
SOURCE: Why do I need to
Hi there,
This is actually a debated issue in the Roku community. Many poeple are unsure as to why they need a credit card information to register your device and many people view it as a privacy concern and dont purchase the Roku. The company has not responded as to why its needed but many people believe it simply there to allow for future purchases if Roku decided to make that option available. It is not a scam just many people are not thrilled by the idea of being forced to do something as opposed to being offered the option.
My friend currently owns the Roku device and he didnt mind giving them the credit card number and he says he loves the device.
Its simply just a personal preference.
Hope this helps!!
