SOURCE: Kettle Keeps jolting out of place

Popcorn popper is approximately three weeks old and now the popcorn clogs up in the hopper (cooker pot), the gear quits turning, and we have to pry the popcorn out. It worked perfectly when we first got it and now it is nothing but a pain to use. We tried several popcorns, cooking oils and amounts of oils, but the problem continues. I noticed the small spring located on the lower shaft doesn't cover the entire shaft. Is it supposed to be longer? Your prompt reply for a solution would be greatly appreciated or we will have to return the unit to our local retailer where we purchased it.

What is the corn and oil amount for treat time popcorn popper tpc 603

I am not fimiliar with that brand . the corn/oil ratio is 3 to 1 so if you add 1-1/2 cups (12oz.) of corn with 4 oz. of oil the popping cycle from the time you dump the corn and oil in to when you dump it shoul be around 3-1/2 min. if its much longer its too much so try 8 oz of corn and 2-1/2 oz. of oil. By you using this test or formula I am assuming the kettle thermostat is set correctly already.

Popcorn machine model tpc-603 manual

Treat Time Model TPC-603

Turn on light and popcorn buttons, for 2 minutes to heat up the popper's kettle.

Then turn off the popcorn button, this stops the turning gears while loading oil and popping corn.

Warning the stainless steel kettle will be hot. Might want to wear an oven mitt.
1 tablespoon of oil (I use coconut oil) and 1/3 cup of popping corn. This makes est. 6 to 8 cups of popcorn.

NOW turn on the popcorn button so the gears start turning, this turns a wire on the bottom inside the kettle to keep the kernels from sticking or burning to the bottom.

If making multi batches, during the process it states in the manual to allow it to cool 5 to 10 minutes. I normally pop 3 to 4 batches and then let it cool down.

When finished popping, turn off both the light and popcorn buttons.

I purchase this popcorn model number ofp901 i have no instructions it looks like the kpm508 and just need to know how much oil and popcorn

The User Manual for the OFP-901 Old Fashioned Popcorn Maker can be found here:

http://nostalgiaelectrics.com/manuals/ofp-901.pdf

Instructions for use can be found on page.

This model is a HOT AIR popper; oil SHOULD NOT be used in this machine.

Simply fill the kernel cap with with kernels and then pour the kerneles down the hole on the top of the unit. Plug in to power supply. Turn on; kernels should pop 2 tp 2 1/2 minutes.

Make sure you place a large enough bowl under the chute!

Instruction/User Manual

I just took over a position as Activiyies Director for a community association. Found the popcorn popper in the closet, no maual of course, I just cleaned it up, added kernals to metal cup & plugged it in. Within 3 minutes I had a huge bowl of fresh popcorn for the kids to enjoy. They love watching it pop. Only problem is finding the perfect way to season. Any suggestions???
