LC-26DV24U-trying to scan for new analog channels

I am trying to scan for new analog channels. On my remote, when I go to TV MENU, and try to select the CHANNEL option, it skips right past CHANNEL and won't let me select it.

Check that the current input is TV. Press the Input button on the TV or the remote. If it isn't, press Input several times or use the Up/Down arrows. Once TV is highlighted, then either wait or press Enter to go to that source. Now try to access the Channels sub-menu.

I hope this helps. The manual for the Sharp LC-26DV24U is available at Sears Parts Direct: https://c.searspartsdirect.com/mmh/pd_download/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0810455.pdf .

(It's normal for most TVs to skip parts of the On-screen menu when the source isn't compatible with the options in that section. Note: if you are using a universal remote, even if there is a source/input button, you may need to try multiple codes for the Sharp brand to ensure that the Input/Source button works. The On/Off code is usually going to work with several codes.)

SOURCE: TV screen on video 2 and remote died

The only way your going to change the video mode is with the original remote. If you need another remote go to http://remotes.com or call 1800 remotes Theres a button on the upper left hand side of the remote called video mode. A universal most of the time will not work this function. You could ask around to your friends and buddies or relitives if anyone has a working Sanyo remote or go to a local retailer that sells Sanyo and see if he would let you borrow one for a little while so you can switch out of the video mode. Good Luck

SOURCE: When I try to set

It sounds like your TV is on a different input. If you watch your cable from an external cable box, and this box is plugged into your TV using wires that are yellow, red, and white, or red, blue, green, red and white, you're currently watching TV on a different input than the one used for the antenna. Channels in a TV are controlled by the tuner. The tuner is the silver, threaded, post on the back of a TV, DVR, converter box, or VCR, that you plug an antenna or cable wire to. The tuner contols channels while the other inputs on your TV carry a direct signal like a computer to a monitor. So when you use something other than coaxial cable to connect cable to your TV, you can't access the channel menu while on that input. To access that menu, change the TV's input or source to TV or stop when you see a channel number on the screen. You have to be on the TV or tuner input in order to access the channel menu. If you're on any other input such as, S-Video, AV1, AV2, component (Yp Br Cr), HDMI, etc. you will not be able to do a channel scan. You have to be on the right input or source.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please post a comment if you need additional assistance so that I can help you further.

SOURCE: I need to do a

During power up and first time use, there should have been an option for channel scanning as the initial setup wizard began.

ec12f55.jpg

Alternatively, there should be a way to navigate to the channel scanning menu by selecting, Menu>TV>Auto Channel Search. I couldn't get the exact info from the model you listed, but I gathered this info from a similar owner's manual (lc-32sb28ut) from the Sharp webpage: http://www.sharpusa.com/CustomerSupport/ProductDownloads.aspx

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Toshiba LCD TV/DVD 15LV505 lost channels. Rescan = fewer channels. Now in Setup, when I press the remote down-it skips the Channel option. What must I fix/change in Settings to get the Channel option?

Main system control memory IC fault. This is a very small IC; have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to the main system control-chroma IC. Check and replace it. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it; in all respect. Otherwise, it won't go. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Before replacing it, try a reset to this set, and then check.

Testimonial: "Hello The Knight, Thanks for your help. But please help me understand. By system control memory IC fault, are you suggesting I need to replace the Eeprom memory? (Toshiba 15LV505 Service Manual: When Replacing Eeprom (memory) Ic.) https://www.manualslib.com/manual/180772/Toshiba-15lv505.html?page=45 And follow the instructions to reprogram it after replacing the Eeprom? Or do you mean something else? Thanks again for your help."

I bought a TOSHIBA 32KV500B tv. At the Initial Installation mistakenly I selected "yes" for 'do you want to search analogue channels?' guestion. And then I lost all my automatically selected...

I had this problem and searched the internet for hours looking for an answer and was given the initial same reply as this and it does not work. To solve this problem all you simply need to do is press source button on the controller followed by pressing the DTV/USB option. All your digital channels will come back to you and you will find the menu setup options you are looking for!!!

How do I switch my TV from analog to digital? And how do I find what digital frequency my cable box operates on?

If you have a cable box then you don't do the switch in the tv, you do it in the box. If the box isn't a digital model then you must replace it.
BTW the digital channels operate on the same frequencies as the normal ones, to find them just do a channel scan.

No antenna tv signal

Your dish remote should be set to the code for your TV. Then you will be able to control the channel number, not just up/down, as well as volume and maybe even the input. But do try to get a real remote for your TV so you can get to its menus.
Meanwhile, use menu+menu to see the channel being output by the Dish receiver. (Must be a 622/722... based on the 60 you listed.) Try to find an unused UHF channel number that your set does have in its up/down list. Match Air/Cable setting of Dish and TV. The Dish output is analog (NTSC) although the tuner(s) only accept digital (ATSC).
