Hi, Error messages can be found at https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/articles/00008857. E:62:10 is a generic error of the stabilizer and has nothing to do with the battery or the memory stick. In fact, after less than 3 years of use the stabilizer breaks down, making it impossible to take sharp pictures, and displaying the dreaded E:62:10 error message. This is a very well known problem that happens a lot and still today with Sony camera's. Thousands of users on the Internet have the same problem, read the website http://sony-e-62-10.atspace.cc/ or search E:62:10 on the Internet or on YouTube. A temporary solution could be available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S53D3EfDVk0 . For me it is a hidden defect or a problem of obsolescence programmed which Sony refuses to follow up despite the many complaints. I would indeed advise taking contact with the support services, and keep us posted of the evolution of your case.

If you open the camera up, whick I know is an intricate task, and take the screen down but don't unplug it, at the right bottom their is something that resembles a watch battery, if you can figure out how to get it off and find a replacement it will be fixed... This battery serves a a sort of memory power, even though you have batteries, this battery keeps the memory for the camera's software, so inturn without it the camera is dead in the water. this is fixable!

Hi

Switch your camera to Setup on the control **** located on the top.

Take out the memory stick and press the reset button located inside the battery compartment.

Now switch on the camera and insert the memory stick.

If you do not get the error go to the little toolbox on the menu. Select the format option and proceed through the warning messages. Remeber you will loose all data on the memory stick.

Things should now work. If not some simple thing that sound bezare but has worked for me is pushing the memory stick in and out before the camera displays the error. Do this several times until the camera actually reads the stick and them format the stick first chance you get.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Sony Cyber-shot Error Code E:61:00

Hi,

you may have these symptoms,
Symptoms :

  1. After pressing the power button in capture mode, the lens would extend and a slight humming from what appeared to be the auto focus motor could be heard for about 5 seconds. When the motor stopped humming, the camera would beep and display E:61:00 in the LCD Screen.
  2. Camera would extend the lens but not be able to focus on anything past 8 inches or so.
  3. Zoom in and zoom out would not work.
  4. Playback mode and the Setup mode was not affected.

To fix this problem,

Do these...

A) Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface.
B) Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time.

If that doesnt fix it, try this:
A) Turn it on and let the lense go out fully
B) See where the lens comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!)

Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed!

If not, try these steps a few more times. If still nothing, then I suggest you to call Sony, but this DID work for 90%, so hopefully it''ll work for you :)

Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.

SOURCE: replace Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 shutter button

Don't throw your Sony Cyber-Shot camera away!

We found a website who has created an entire comprehensive photo instructions for the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H Series Shutter Button Installation.

They also have the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H9 Shutter Button Installation Instructions as well!

Please note that we STRONGLY recommend using a flash discharger. This is for your safety and also for your camera's safety.

Hope this helps to get your camera working and start capturing memories again!

SOURCE: how to get date to display on images fo sony cyber

Sorry, this camera doesn't support the feature. From pp 30 of the manual, "This camera does not have a feature for superimposing dates on images. By using "picture motion browser", you can print or save images with the date." The picture motion browser is described in the cyber-shot handbook, pp92.

Why are there lines in my photos

The manual says:
This phenomenon is called smearing. This is not a malfunction. Smearing is not recorded on still images, but is recorded as streaks or uneven colors on Sweep Panorama images or movies. ("Bright areas" refers to the sun or electric lights which are much brighter than surroundings.) It does not say a thing about lines in the prints. Are you sure the pictures do have lines too? Can you describe this more accurate?

Hi. I have problem with flash, dont working. Thanks.

If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances:

  • When shooting MPEG movies
  • When shooting in the Twilight or Handheld Twilight mode
  • If shooting with the Burst or Multi Burst mode
  • Shooting with Sweep Panorama
  • Shooting with the Fireworks or High Sensitivity mode.
  • If an external flash is connected

Photo shots: the pictures look as if a super flash wash used, even when flash is not used. Movies are o.k.

Hi,
It is problem of ccd imager chip in DSC-T1 camera that gives you washed out still image after taking shot/ stored image, you may get live view correct in camera mode and movie but it saves taken still picture over bright etc.
Replace ccd imager chip by local camera repair shop to solve this issue.
Thanks.

Camera stuck in movie mode

press menu button, left or right arrow button until you come upon REC Mode. Choose option Normal. Yours is on Multiburst and that is causing your problem. Changing it to Normal should fix it.

It sounds like you have the Mode switch set to the Movie position instead of the Record position. The Mode switch should be set as show on the following image:
