Finding the repair manual or schematic for a spartan 192K
Just was given a Spartan sewing machine that has been sitting in an outbuilding for a while and need the schematic layout so I can clean up inside and out and see what all is wrong

go google and type in-- workshop manual for (make not given) model 1980b sewing machine --- and if there is one it will be a pdf version under the manufacturers name
The Spartan is a beautiful sewing machine. It is likely that rust has caused some of the problem. When you look at the foot there is an area that is like a hinge. Put a little wd 40 on each side and let it set for a while. If this doesn't work you may need a repairman to take over.
Sounds like the spring came off. You will need to take the cover off and reconnect the spring. If that's not what's wrong, taking the cover off will expose the mechanical parts. Move the lever up and down. reconnect it.
Use only sewing machine oil. Get an oiler with a long spout so you can reach far places, put a single drop of oil on every place that has metal moving on metal.
an excellent source of help with fixing elna is www.whitesewingcenter.com original elna parts, and when my rotary hook gear broke last year, i fixed myself with help of schematic. he also has manuals. may have yours. my elna is a 62C model from 1972. nothing like it. fabulous machine, and i have given it very heavy use the first 30 years. hope this helps. cheers
