Do you see any other digits alternating with the E4? Most of the error codes that I know with Samsung split system air conditioning units have three digits after the E. Depending on the last two digits, the error could be with the control board (printed circuit board), the fan, a sensor connected to the control board or the wiring. you will need to open the flap of the remote and press the button on the bottom left hand corner with a triangle, snowflake, raindrop and sun. Note on the top part of the LCD screen will be a sun. This indicates heating. Then set temp and fanspeed.

There is a water holding tank on the right lower side (when u are looking at the front), empty it and the unit comes back on.

If the return air sensor not defective you must check the refrigerant charge . may be you have loss of the charge and you have to charge the unit and check it for leakage .
